KSP2 Release Notes

Yup, I've read about that as well. There are some practical applications to this, in fact. One possible mission would be to send up a craft which would use magnetic fields to trap the antimatter, which could then be used in space endeavors (using the captured antimatter in matter-antimatter pulse spacecraft, capable of reaching relativistic speeds). Of course, all these ideas that have been proposed are highly theoretical and are pretty much just fun things to think about at this point.

You know, I've thought about pursuing careers like that, be it directing like you said or something like writing or what not, but I've decided at this point I'm going to pursue a career in astrophysics. That said, thank you!

It's Magnificent Journey by Sound Adventures.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bMMvJGs2FGQ Something I made last night. Any feedback? Also, if anyone is wondering, it was of course Jebediah descending the ladder.

Any word on changing names? I had changed this one over to Rascal Nag a while back, but I can't seem to find anything that could do the same thing with vBulletin.

When it's done is all anyone knows. One could likely say the devs aren't sure of release either - they have deadlines only they know about, but they can often be pushed back based on the course of development. Also, try not to ask about release dates, it's prohibited by the forum rules. Speaking of which, probably the most important thing you can read as a new member: http://kerbalspaceprogram.com/forum/showthread.php/15254-Forum-Rules I'm not a moderator but I still think this is a good read for newcomers. Wouldn't want to get on a mod's bad side within your first few days! Hope you enjoy the forums.

Stargate is also extremely well known.

I guess NBC over here forgot to add in that part...

No, that was WWI. Edit: Also, while it was clear it may have had some meaning to the people of Great Britain, if you\'re holding an internationalevent you should at least make a half decent attempt to impress the international audience with what you\'re doing instead of just your own people. Celebrating the NHS was probably the low point for other countries, with the information age/love story bit coming in as a close second for being so cheesy. The children\'s literature part was pretty cheesy as well. What they should have done, if they want to impress people with their history, was add in segments involving the ancient history of the isles, like the Celts, Romans, Anglo-Saxons (They could have done stuff with Beowulf!), etc. since all were on the isles at some point, Moved on to the agrarian bit they had in the beginning after that, then the industrial age, did the tribute to WWI, then pulled off the industrial revolution stuff and did a portion on WWII, then moved into the mid-late 20th century by focusing on the music (WITHOUT the love story crap), and finally, as the pinnacle, the invention of the World Wide Web. And each era represented would each bring one ring. The ancient era could chisel one. The agrarian era could 'grow' one, as in have a ring of vines come up from the ground. The industrial revolution portion forged one. The music portion could make a music staff loop around on itself. And finally, the world wide web ending would have a ring which actually has lights on it display 0\'s and 1\'s a la the Matrix come up around Tim Berners-Lee while he types on the computer. The end.

Yup. And they gave an interview of Michael Phelps instead. That\'s NBC for you.

To Mech-Jeb or not to Mech-Jeb, that is the question...
Rascal Nag replied to Vostok's topic in KSP1 Mods Discussions
I don\'t eyeball when I\'m flying manually. With the map (and even without them map sometimes), it\'s very easy to know exactly what you\'re doing. I must disagree in terms of mechjeb being stock. I think that kerbonaut tasks (i.e. telling your kerbonauts to try to make this trans-munar injection themselves) with a chance of failure if you haven\'t trained them well, a set of maneuvers laid out for you beforehand based on the mission you\'re flying (was meant for .15 with the patch conics on the map but didn\'t get out in time), and basic flight computer parts (would behave the same as kerbonaut tasks essentially, would be good for unmanned missions or if your kerbonauts can\'t tell normal from anti-normal) would be more appropriate, since mechjeb does everything for you. -
Those ceremonies were terrible in my opinion. The industrial revolution part was probably the only part I found better than mediocre, but after that everything went downhill. Fast.

To Mech-Jeb or not to Mech-Jeb, that is the question...

I used it for a video I made with the fixed cameras, but when I\'m focusing on actually accomplishing something and not on making a video or anything, I do it manually. -
Mining for trading is an idea I am against. It would be a net loss to go out into space and then bring stuff back anyway in almost all cases. Mining for volatiles in order to make rocket fuel, however, is a very valuable ability to have if you wish to undertake large missions. Instead of lugging a huge, fuel filled ship up at once, or even a bunch of tiny bits of fuel up at once, you can bring up one empty ship, then fill it with mined fuel from a designated mining craft, which would also take some fuel for itself in order to get back to another asteroid and start the process again. Or what happens once your fuel depot in orbit runs dry? Launching up a bunch of rockets from Kerbin to re-fill it sure wouldn\'t be cheap.

PBS is the Public Broadcasting Service. It\'s an American television network, so if you\'re not from the US it may not be familiar to you. It\'s pretty well respected here though, and has run many great programs over the years, including science programs, one of those being Cosmos: A Personal Voyage. Edit: This is a preview of one of the interviews in the documentary. It does not rule out commercial space travel, in fact, it shows scientists praising it.

I have it, and while it\'s fun to an extent I feel that it does not (nor can it ever) reach its full potential due to limitations in the engine. It\'s better than having no open-world zombie survival, but with The War Z and The Dead Linger coming out, it seems as if DayZ will serve as a gateway for other zombie survival games instead of the pinnacle of the genre. It\'s inevitable that games with engines specifically designed for this type of zombie survival will excel far more than DayZ has.

Just found this. The kickstarter they link to explains that PBS could potentially run this if it gets funding. Definitely something to watch if it does succeed.

Final descent Touchdown! Jeb is leaving the capsule. Bob\'s turn. He had an interesting way of doing things... Stuck the landing! Finally, Bill just fell. Group picture:

I though that exact same thing when I got them all to balance properly. Here\'s a pyramid:

No, this is not an Easter egg formation of any kind. It\'s better:

How to easily get all the news from the developers
Rascal Nag replied to Shuttle's topic in The Lounge
Also, I might add that if you use the advanced search, you can put in the names of the users you wish to include in the search, then give a keyword for said search, allowing one to obtain all that the devs have said on a specific subject if you put the devs\' names in the box. -

Sunspot 1520 waking up from its sleep with a massive solar flare
Rascal Nag replied to Rascal Nag's topic in The Lounge
Long duration event in progress around 1520, X ray flux is at M1.5 and climbing. There was a large coronal mass ejection as the flare got under way see here: At first glance it appears it is not heading towards us, but time will tell if we are magnetically connected enough that it would move more towards us. If you wish to see the current state of the flare, go here: http://www.swpc.noaa.gov/rt_plots/xray_1m.html It seems like 1520 doesn\'t want to leave us without saying goodbye. -
Sunspot 1520 waking up from its sleep with a massive solar flare
Rascal Nag replied to Rascal Nag's topic in The Lounge
I try to make the descriptions sound as interesting as possible! Anyway, it appears the storm may have abated for now, whether this is a sign of it ending or simply a lull period I\'m not sure of though. http://ccmc.gsfc.nasa.gov/cgi-bin/SWMFpred.cgi Though this model has not been updated in a few hours, it does seem like, at its last update, the magnetosphere was much less distorted than it had been earlier today. This makes me think that the storm may in fact be coming to a close, but again, I\'m not sure. -

I have not yet, due to extensive cloud cover at the moment. I\'m hoping that once it clears up a bit I\'ll get some nice views.
