  1. Hi everyone! Believe it or not, I watched this launch with Kjell Lindgren's entire family (with the exception of his parents and wife, who are at Baikonur). Kjell's mother- and father-in-law and his wife's sister were sitting right next to me... they were incredibly nice and it was a pleasure to meet them. I also met up with Barry "Butch" Wilmore, a two-time astronaut and really cool guy, and Bruce McCandless II, who was the capcom for Apollo 11, conducted the first untethered spacewalk, and was one of the guys who released the Hubble Space Telescope. Sorry if this comes off as gloating... but today was a good day. Probably the best I've had in a while. Congratulations to the crew, and good luck on the eventual docking! -Upsilon
  2. Aw. I would love to do this, but unfortunately I don't have the time or the under-the-hood expertise. ...maybe you could let me access new versions because I'm a Very Famous YouTuber* who can be given the honor of playing stuff before others do? *Note: Not actually a Very Famous YouTuber, just in case you were wondering. -Upsilon
  3. It doesn't sound as if Tesla's planning to have the car travel at 'ludicrous speed,' only to have ludicrous acceleration. I know I'm being pedantic, but this mode doesn't sound as if it'll increase the car's top speed, only the rate at which it reaches its top speed. Even though this is an important step in the right direction for cars, only when a vehicle can 'go to Plaid' will I be happy... -Upsilon
  4. Nope. (and no, I won't be back to check on this thread, so don't bother asking whether I'll reply next. Just a friendly PSA from yours truly.) -Upsilon
  5. I'll put in a bunch of shameless plugs here, since I was considered one of the big KSP composers for a little while. (I really need to work on more songs!) Suggested Songs: Name: DUNA Download/Location: (Also, check out Avera9eJoe's percussion cover while you're at it!)Good Place For It: Upon landing on Duna/entering the SoI. Description: A faster-paced melody with plenty of violin and a punchy bass synth, DUNA made the Daily Kerbal and prompted the hashtag #ThisShouldBeStock from Wookiee and others. ~~~ Name: EVE Download/Location: Good Place For It: Upon landing on Eve/entering the SoI. Description: An etherial melody "borrowing" a lot from the KSP theme, EVE is another mostly-violin composition that's peaceful yet haunting, or something. (I need better ways of describing my music!) ~~~ Name: DRES Download/Location: Good Place For It: Upon landing on Dres/entering the SoI. Description: A slow and haunting melody that describes quite well how gosh-darned lonely Dres is. ~~~ Name: MINMUS Download/Location: Good Place For It: Upon landing on Minmus/entering the SoI. Description: An icy melody with a seriously cool background ambience. (NOTE: My download link for Minmus, found in the video description, tones down the high notes a tad, resulting in a much better mix.) ~~~ Name: MOHO Download/Location: Good Place For It: Upon landing on Moho/entering the SoI. Description: An interesting blend of melodies with a distinct vibe, MOHO captures how there's something a little... off... about the planet closest to the Sun. ~~~ Name: SUN Download/Location: Good Place For It: Upon entering the Sun's SoI. Description: This is the sort of music that is well-suited to a long voyage sailing through the fathomless deeps of interplanetary space. ~~~ All of these melodies are played entirely by me. I'm not bad at violin There's also some other KSP-themed music I've done, but none of it fits quite well enough in-game. To learn more about each of my songs, please go here. IMHO, these songs may not be perfect, but they would make good additions to the already-existing realm of KSP music and really enhance the feeling of landing somewhere for the first time -Upsilon
  6. Jeez. I keep letting these threads die. I'm better at keeping potted plants alive (and believe me, my plants have grown to hate me). So, let me just say that my channel is still alive, though just barely. My main computer is dead, and I've been out of the video-making business for over a month now. I am still alive though, and when a computer is delivered to me, new KSP content will blossom like flowers! In the meantime though, here's my five most recent videos, from newest to oldest: Drops of Jool: Original KSP Music (2:18) (I will just note here that this is the first piece of music that I've posted on my channel in a good long while. I make my own KSP music, as some of you may know ) KSP: My "Junkyard" Designs! (5:27) KSP: Cute Wittle Dinosaur! (2:13) KSP: Cute VTOL-Plane! (2:38) KSP: Fairing Floating Bug! (2:15) So anyways, expect new videos in a couple of weeks. And as always, if you liked the videos, don't forget to leave a like or maybe even subscribe! That would be tremendously appreciated -Upsilon
  7. The very first known mod was revealed on June 26, 2011. It was a "smallish solid booster stage" by Woo482 (who left the Forum years ago). He came on to the forums to ask how to successfully add a modded part to the 0.7.3 version of KSP: he had tried to add the model but the game froze up when he tried to load it. Here's a picture of Woo's mod, by the way. HarvesteR's answer to Woo's question makes it pretty clear that this was the first modding attempt he had ever seen: After some of HarvesteR's suggestions, Woo482's mod worked successfully. He never did release a download link though. If you want to see the original thread, here's a link for you. It's a nice walk down memory lane, especially for modders. -Upsilon [EDIT: The very first 'mod' with a download link available to players was just a file that could change the parachute's color. Here's a link to that as well.]
  8. I agree with your sentiments here I'm not a big fan of having the majority of a video taking place in the VAB/SPH, unless you're showcasing a particular hitherto-unseen building technique or something. Yes. If I was doing something like this, I would probably dramatically speed up and cut through large chunks of build time (unless something really cool happened as I was doing so) and concentrate more on the test flights and such. After reading the advice of you and others, I think I will create an outro. It'll probably just be an image and some light music with a 'Subscribe!' button at the bottom and 'Previous/Next' buttons on the top left and right. I don't think I could do anything animated (it takes a lot of time) and Nyan Cat has gotten old enough for me to change my profile image soon. I'm actually commisioning someone to do a new profile pic and new channel art, but don't tell anyone! I want it to be a surprise. That's not a bad idea. I haven't had a camera capable of recording a Bagel Drawings (or, for that matter, a 'How to hack your Plasma Globe!) in months, but if I ever do get such a camera, I'll probably keep at the drawing videos. Sure thing. My designs generally work the second or third time around, so it won't take too much time to get them done! Also, I should mention: I'm a very slow builder and a very fast video editor. It can take me three hours to build something and twenty minutes to edit the resulting footage. Thus, if I made videos of my build progress, I could actually make a video in less time than it would take to polish a craft and then make a video of it! All of these ideas are pretty good! I think that showcase videos of various failures would go over well. It would also be nice to improve others' failed designs. Finally, while I'm not sure about the vlogs, I should probably get into streaming. I think I may do pretty well with that Great to have you here, Xacktar. Depressingly enough, many of my most popular videos today are Bagel Drawings-es published in mid-2013. A quick pie chart shows the top three most-viewed videos right now as 'How to Hack a Plasma Globe' with 44% of the view count, 'How to Draw a Creeper' at 18%, and 'How to Draw the Moon' at 4.1%; all of these were uploaded in mid-2013 and have not aged well... I do agree though that my videos seem to pick up more views over time. Understood Amen. I think the most important thing for me to do is to have fun. If I stop having fun making videos... well, I may still continue, but they won't be very good. I have no wishes to force myself to go in any direction. Your feedback, though, does definitely help me seek out other fun options for my channel. Welcome back! Thanks! Got it This is a great idea. I didn't even know this was possible... guess what I'm going to do the minute I have a reasonably good camera! Thanks for all of the replies guys. I really appreciate it! -Upsilon
  9. I'll start with a disclaimer, so as to not make people irritated: This is not a thread to promote my channel. Rather, it's a thread asking for advice to make my channel better. I'll explain all of the situations I've gotten into, so you don't have to watch a second of my videos if you don't want to. Just making this clear! Thanks. ~~~ Hi everybody! It's UpsilonAerospace. So recently, my main computer, Logan, died after a long battle with hard drive errors. This means that I haven't been able to produce videos on my YouTube channel, called Bagel Rabbit (see my signature if you really want to, but again, it's not necessary). I want to make sure that when I return, I'm producing enough quality content to attract a larger audience than I have right now. Unfortunately, there are some aspects of my channel that are distinctly "meh." Can you help me buff up my channel a bit? Okay, so here are the problems I'm having. 1) "Bagel Drawings!" A while back, I started a drawing series called (appropriately enough) Bagel Drawings. This series attracted a lot of people to my channel, and many of the videos in it are among the most-watched things that I've ever done. The only problem? The "Bagel Drawings" videos probably rank as among the worst videos I've ever made. Worse yet, I made an abysmal video called something like "How to Hack a Plasma Globe." This video is the most popular one on my channel, in spite of its weak monologue and general dragging-on. Though I would love to delete it, it accounts for some fifty percent of my viewing traffic, and it may be directing people to my KSP videos... or maybe not. This leads me to my first question: Should I delete some of my very popular but very bad videos? Is it worth the reduced exposure to have a greater proportion of reasonably good content on my channel? 2) Outros! Back when Andrew Hansen was at the height of his popularity, I asked him how I could gain subscribers as fast as he could (he was picking them up at a crazy rate). He said that one thing that would improve my videos would be an outro screen prompting people to subscribe and watch my other videos. Personally, I'm not a huge fan of outro screens and generally click off of videos immediately before they happen. They certainly seem to be popular amongst the more prominent YouTubers though. So, this leads to my second question: Would an outro be a good idea for my channel? Would this cause my view and/or subscriber counts to increase? 3) Channel Content! Finally, I would like to ask whether my channel's content is good as-is, or whether it needs to be punched up a little. Right now, the majority of my videos are craft showcase videos with commentary. I feel as if this form has gotten a little old though, and I'm wondering about a change of pace. I'm thinking that the best way to do this for me is to have heavily-edited short videos in which I show the building and the testing of whatever craft I feel like making (perhaps including subscriber-suggested craft). This would be nice because it would show a bit of behind-the-scenes and occasional humorous failures. I could also spread craft construction over two or more videos, creating "cliffhangers:" Will I actually get this craft to work? Stay tuned! Finally, I currently abandon more than half of my designs. This type of video series would cause me to try to troubleshoot and actually fix the problems I've made instead of abandoning the craft outright. I think that this would make me a better KSP builder as a whole. My third question is: Would such videos work well, or are there any other video ideas that you think would be cool? ~~~ Oh, and if you can think of any other way to improve my channel, that would be nice too. Any help is greatly appreciated Thank you very much for stopping by this thread! -Upsilon
  10. That means that compared with all normal humans, you are slightly above average in terms of your Intelligence Quotient (IQ). Someone with an intelligence quotient of 100 has a typical IQ. That being said, the concept of an IQ has come under some controversy lately, and if you're still not happy with your scores, you are capable of increasing them through brain exercises. So I wouldn't worry about it -Upsilon
  11. Saying that China is a country of "commies" and German National Socialist camps were found on Pluto is not anything the real NASA would say. Yes, NASAofficial is a troll. Unfortunately. It would be nice to get NASA's opinion on some of this stuff in chat... -Upsilon
  12. Press conference just started on the NASA Public Ustream, if anyone is interested. They're showing the newest pictures and data... Here's the link again (it's also back a few pages, many thanks to Frida Space). http://www.ustream.tv/nasahdtv -Upsilon
  13. Hoorah! Now it's just time to wait for some good hard data... ...and is is a bad thing that I got up about an hour earlier than usual just to watch this thing? -Upsilon
  14. What may be "blatantly obvious" to you may not be so obvious to others. I didn't really see Kaboom! as being rude, just a little frustrated. However, once again, you seem to be a lot more inconsiderate than he was, with words like "begging for [reputation]," "blatantly obvious," and of course calling him "rude." I wish you would be a little friendlier to me, Kaboom!, and others... it doesn't seem as if you are fond of a number of KSP forum personalities. To each his own though. -Upsilon
  15. I'll be going to NARAM this year too, as it's relatively nearby. If anyone else is heading over there, shoot me a PM; I'd love to meet ya ...and yes, the Model Rocket thread does desperately need a reboot... -Upsilon
  16. As someone who , I offer my most hearty congratulations. One question though: Why are your fins the shape that they are? I'm used to "normal" fins with the semi span being about the size of the root chord (read: a square with an angled cut running from the top of the fin to near the middle). It seems as if your fins are a little different. That's certainly not a bad thing, but I'm just wondering why. Oh, and once again, I always love showing off my most Kerbal rocket... this link is certainly worth a click if you're interested -Upsilon
  17. Aw, Thomas988. You're always being such a nice guy to me, and you've done plenty of awesome stuff yourself! (Your planet renders were really cool ) Glad I got the chance to send some compliments back your way. -Upsilon
  18. How about a "celebrity" guest? I would love to be on this thing, even though I'm not exceedingly good at Minecraft. At the very least, I could provide some comic relief and maybe attract a slightly brighter spotlight to this series Of course, my old computer died recently (RIP Logan: you will not be forgotten) and so I would have to come on a little after the beginning of the series, but it would still be a fun time for all. (Oh, and by the way: I wanted to reply to the PM you sent, Endersmens, but your inbox is full. Can you clear out a thing or two? That would be nice.) -Upsilon
  19. Hi everyone! I'm back from a three-day vacation, and it was a real pleasure reading through all of the negative comments on here, let me tell you. I do agree with some of the viewpoints here; I'll try to explain my thoughts on all of the other points people brought up... ...I think you meant "drooling intensifies," DuoDex. Also, you have +Rep bars again! But on a more serious note, yes, I do admit that I've been way too closely involved with the topic of Reputation as a Forum-goer. I should probably stop... but this thread actually marks the transition of me caring less (and encouraging y'all to do the same)! So at least I'm taking steps in the right direction. I agree with your statements, though I personally would have probably been a little gentler in saying them. Okay, a disclaimer here: the below post rubbed me in the wrong way a bit. Sorry if my response comes across as harsh in any way; it's not supposed to... Nah, they're not too bad (and I'm not great at debate myself). Keep at it and you'll get better I'm pretty sure that out of all of the people that posted in that thread, I got the most Reputation out of it (that wouldn't be an unreasonable assumption, anyway). The total amount of Reputation I got out of the thread, however, is probably less than fifty points: I think about ten people have repped me for that thread since its inception in October. That's really not a lot of Reputation, especially considering the amount of +Rep tossed around in threads like the 'Destroy GIC' bonanza. Perhaps my thread has brought the concept of Reputation to more people, but I don't think it has devalued it as much as you fear. That being said, the Light-Green Group was also created at a different time in the history of the Forum, when joining the Group was considered to be a bigger deal than it is now. I'm actually in quite a bit of a Catch-22: I actually don't really want to update the thread at this point, as it doesn't reflect my current thoughts towards Reputation, and I seriously considered ceasing updates a month ago... but the public sentiment was quite strongly in favor of an update, for obvious reasons. Maybe I should hand over the thread rights to a moderator or something. The only ill will I harbor towards others with high Reputation counts is that it's difficult to update my aforementioned Light-Green Group now. You try organizing over a hundred people and writing nice things about them! With all seriousness, I'm ranked #3 on the Forum (or #5 if you count the two souls who chose to make their Reputation invisible). This is actually just about the highest on the +Rep totem pole that I've ever been, mind you. Saying that I'm jealous of two to four other people and want the top spot for myself seems to imply that I am a whiny soul who won't stop his so-called "jealousy" until he's at the very top spot. That's not tremendously nice. See above... It's about time for people to start saying things like this on the thread, isn't it? *sigh* If I said anything remotely like that, it was not intentional. Rather, the 'trolls' referred to people who were unfairly critical to their fellow Forum members. Read the previous sentence once or twice and see if you can interpret what I actually meant here. Pretty much all of the above is untrue. I would link you to one of the dozens of posts that state that the community was being overly harsh, but if you haven't read a single one of them, you probably won't read my links either: the pages are easy enough to find, and they are quite numerous. A majority of moderators and a large chunk of the community seem to think that SQUAD is indeed being unfairly criticized. The community being viciously harsh to SQUAD is the equivalent of a child throwing a temper tantrum in the supermarket. It may capture the mother's attention and it's certainly loud enough to hear, but at the end of the day it is not fostering a positive relationship between the two entities involved and it may not result in the child getting what he or she wants. What you don't seem to understand is that there is a line between "constructive criticism" and "criticism." There's nothing constructive, for example, about your above implications that I am a jealous little man. Rather, your statements seem designed to anger me. If you are doing the same sort of things to SQUAD, I think you need to calm down and consider that people who are angry at you rarely agree with your points, whether they are valid or not. As for my Reputation counts... well, we've already discussed this. And I'll also discuss it below, because you mention the whole "jealousy" thing there too. Wait a minute. So, I'm saying, "I don't like the Reputation system because it generates negative sentiments within the Community. I think we shouldn't care about it quite as much." You're saying, "I don't like the Reputation system either, but I'm sure you don't like it because you're feeling jealous of other Forum-goers that have Reputation too. I also think we shouldn't care about it as much." What? You just agreed with me on my general premise. Why did you then have to attack me based on your interpretation of a few lines of my post? I'm not entirely sure where you're coming from here, or what you intend to achieve. Maybe you can reply and let me know? Okay, with that, I must eat. I can sup with the knowledge that the majority of the coming posts are a little nicer. I'll probably reply to them quite soon -Upsilon
  20. Well, that's apparently what it was originally for... but that sentiment has changed. My point of this thread was "It might be nice to care less about Reputation!" You're stating, "It might be nice for you to care less about caring about Reputation!" If I stated that your beliefs don't change my perspective on this particular issue, I would be stating, "It might be nice for you to care less about caring less about caring about Reputation!" That didn't really address your concerns, but I personally thought it was quite amusing. Disagreeing with my concerns, incidentally, is perfectly reasonable: looking back at this, I seem to have been quite irritable for some reason. I still think that all of the observations I made stand though. Acerbic criticism is in the eye of the beholder*. Personally, I would state that your first statement doesn't strike me as constructive, only as criticism. Your second statement, however, does make a reasonable point. Neither of the statements, though, are quite as acerbic as some of the stuff I've seen around here... *This is a beautiful quote, looking back at it! Maybe regex could use it for something? /sarcasm This would be really very neat. I don't know whether it would be possible to implement though, and it still wouldn't solve the entire "People getting Reputation for bashing SQUAD" issue... I suppose I don't see my plea as an objective rating. I could, for example, have stated that people should only +Rep posts with good grammar or something. Rather, I see my plea as attempting to reduce negativity in the community. That's a common goal that I'm pretty sure everyone wants to work toward; I'm providing a possible solution, and while it probably will be the equivalent of herding cats, it is worth a thought or two. I do agree that thread ratings are a little annoying though. Oh, and speaking of cats! Amen. I would agree that if reputation actually counted for anything tangible, the situation would be a lot worse than it is right now... but that still doesn't mean we can't try to figure out a better way to do this entire Reputation system. I know, but the White Bar Group is ruining the premise of the Light-Green Group! With all due seriousness, I've warmed considerably to the prospect of the White-Bar Group. I don't know if I'll join it though. Once again, the White-Bar Group is certainly something to think about. I still know that there are definitely some people who enjoy the conventional Reputation system, which means that any changes would be difficult to make... Oh, and a last-minute edit: DuoDex, to be fair, I am arguably the person who has spent the most time dealing with Reputation-related matters in the Kommunity, which means that I have agglomerated waaay too much to say! You don't have to read it if you don't want to though. -Upsilon
  21. Hello, ladies and gentlekerbs! I'm UpsilonAeropace. As you've probably seen, the White Bar Group has recently been approaching two dozen members, including many that were previously in the Light-Green Group. Personally, I'm not a fan of the White Bar Group: it seems like it will be no more than a silly passing fad for most. It does, however, bring up an interesting question: Should the Reputation System Exist At All? ~~~ This is actually quite a complicated issue, and one that merits some further attention. So please excuse the following ramblings (I'm very tired) as I discuss what the Reputation system is and how it affects the community. ~~~ What is Reputation? According to the official Forum page on Reputation: It seems that Reputation is what you get when a person enjoys a post you made enough to click the little black star-shaped button. People with a lot of Reputation have made plenty of posts that many people enjoy (or helped lots of people). The posts may be in the Fanworks, in the modding subforum, on the Spacecraft Exchange, or on General Discussions, but the premise remains the same. It's really as simple as that. ~~~ So, what benefits does Reputation have? I can think of two. One, however, is a double-edged sword. One of the benefits of Reputation is that it does provide new Forum-goers with a general sense of who is respected within the community. The only other basic statistics gleaned from someone's post is their join date and their number of posts. Neither of these do quite as good a job of indicating a person's status as Reputation does, in my opinion. I don't think you would disagree. When I first started the Light-Green Group in October of last year, it seems as if there was a strong correlation between respectability and Reputation. Over the course of the last year, this correlation has weakened. Perhaps this is because of reasons I'll discuss in a bit. The other reason is that it's nice to receive Reputation. It makes everyone smile a bit. This reason, however, actually may have negative consequences for our Forum. ~~~ Why would Reputation be a bad thing? I'll start off with the other edge of the double-edged sword that I mentioned earlier. People really enjoy getting Reputation... but sometimes, this positive feedback can lead to negative consequences! Some people have gained Reputation by posting acerbic criticism of SQUAD or (shudder) other Forum-goers. The latter doesn't happen very often, but I've seen it happen to others and had it happen to myself; the former has run increasingly rampant over the past several months. Giving positive feedback for doing negative* things really isn't great. To clarify: I know that the reputation system isn't causing people to bash SQUAD or anyone else. SQUAD has made mistakes and trolls exist, and there's nothing anyone can do about that. I am, however, saying that giving a 'reward' for being scathingly critical encourages the process to continue. It also makes highly critical people seem more reputable in the minds of some Forum-goers. In short, while Reputation isn't the cause of such behavior, it does play a role in allowing it to flourish. There are other negative consequences to the Reputation system as well: people can, for example, try to speak with authority on matters that they don't know enough about and be lent a bit of false credibility by their Reputation levels. (Perhaps that's what I'm doing right now!) There's also some people out there who want Reputation enough to post their good ideas and craft in far too many places on the Forum, practically spamming the system. Finally, there are threads that exist for the sole purpose of asking for Reputation; I fear the Light-Green Group may fall into this category, and I can't say that I've been above asking for Reputation myself. All of these problems are threats to idea of Reputation as it stands, though the first one certainly has the biggest potential to negatively affect the Forum. *I'm just going to put this out there: some people have crossed the line between 'constructive criticism' of SQUAD and 'bullying.' The former is absolutely needed in this Forum, but the latter is both intolerable and frequently rewarded by the Reputation system. Different people draw the lines in different places, but some of the snark and bile I've seen on the Forum is inexcusable... and it is often rewarded with some handsome Reputation as well. ~~~ Is there a way to circumvent this problem? Sure! It's quite simple. One thing to do is stop giving Reputation to people who are being scathingly critical of SQUAD, instead diverting it to people who post constructive criticism or who are otherwise being helpful. I want to link here to Deddly's Positive Forum Movement; it does a pretty good job recommending the same general plan laid out here. The problem is, while many people posted on Deddly's thread saying that they would try to be nicer, the balance of the Forum still shifted strongly into the negative after the release of 1.0, and a great many chunks of Reputation still went to people claiming that the game was broken and that SQUAD had done an awful job with the new update. Even today, the Forum is still not as cheerful a place as it was a scant six months ago... could this be due, in part, to the distribution of Reputation? Maybe. Oh, and it would also be nice to only give Reputation to people who have made a worthy post in general. Sadly, I've created a thread or two that asked people to deliver Reputation just for the heck of it. I really regret doing that - it's further eroded the Reputation system - but hindsight is 20/20, unfortunately. ~~~ So, addressing the original question: Should the Reputation System exist at all? I personally like the Reputation system. Maybe that's because I have more Reputation than most people on the Forum, or maybe it's because I know it's great to get rewarded for the cool stuff people create. But I feel as if people should know that Reputation is not as important as some may think. There are many reasons for this, and perhaps if people did not place this system in such high regard, they would be a tiny bit less critical. It's funny to be saying that a system originally designed to be spreading niceness and encouraging positive, constructive ideas now seems to be doing the exact opposite... So, in short, I would make it clear somehow that Reputation is a very worthy thing to give and receive, but that it's not worth the emphasis that some place on it. I'm sure you have some good ideas of how to change the current Reputation situation. ~~~ Pardon my rambling. I just realized that this was a really long post! I think I'm done now. Thanks for reading this thread. I look forward to your discussion (please keep it rational and civil, as always). -Upsilon
  22. First of all, I extend my hearty thanks to Yukon009 for creating such a wonderful replica of my trophy (and then scrapping it for something that was perhaps even better)! Thanks, Yukon! I'll send a small chunk of Reputation your way... The reason I originally created the trophy so small was to showcase an actual Oscar-B tank as the top of it. Sorry if some, such as Majorjim, found it a little underwhelming Oh, and Yukon, if there aren't any Oscar-B's on your big ol' trophy, it might be nice to add one... And now, a brief moment of remembrance for Logan... I'll interrupt the remembrance here (sorry, Logan) to state that my next machine will likely be named William, after William "Bill" Kerman. It's funny to note that the original three astronauts' full names may actually be William, Robert, and Jebediah... As for the trophy, feel free to use Yukon's, no objections here! Okay, back to remembering Logan... Actually, I have a fairly good concession speech planned: Logan was born at some time during the year 2012. He lived a happy, fruitful and productive life. The images, videos and posts he created touched the lives of thousands on this Forum and around the world. He will not be forgotten. ~~~ Oh, and katateochi, I wouldn't be surprised if you had a trophy soon Your videos are excellent. -Upsilon
  23. Hey Cupcake! Congratulations on winning an Oscar-B, you fully deserve it. Here's what's happening on my end, unfortunately. ~~~ A little less than a week ago, my main KSP computer died. It passed away after a long battle with hard drive errors, crashes, and miscellaneous problems. It is now unable to even successfully boot up, which counts as 'dead' in my book. It will be fondly remembered by my microphone, Sam, and my headphones named Roger. Rest in peace, Logan. (Yes, I named my computer. Those who know that my microphone's name is Sam are probably not that surprised.) *sniffle* This means that not only have I been unable to play KSP (and make videos!) for the past week, but I have also likely lost the .craft file for the trophy. I never even saved the trophy to Dropbox or any place where I could access it remotely, because I wanted to create personalized .craft files to send to all of the winners. This is also, by the way, the reason why Bob Fitch generously agreed to create the Oscar-B video. I would have done it myself, but sadly I couldn't. The computer I'm writing this on isn't good for much. Once I get a new computer (maybe a little less than a week from now), I may try to replicate the trophy as closely as possible. If anyone wants to replicate the trophy him- or herself, I can PM you some of the details that went into this thing, as best as I can remember them. I'm quite sorry about all this. Hopefully it's understandable. Oh, and thanks for bucking up this thread's rating to a solid four stars, everyone! I appreciate it -Upsilon
  24. The Great Naked Space Man is not a Kerbal. Rather, he is... well, I'll use Felsmak's official blog thing to explain. Here's a link. Or, if you want the video that introduced the GNSM to the world: -Upsilon
