  1. well when they weren't seeming to work, i tried covering a plane in a couple dozen airbrakes, and when activated they did not change the craft's drag coefficient, nor did they produce a noticeable reduction in deceleration. i'm stumped.
  2. will this be compatible with the FS airbrakes at some point? they don't appear to increase the vessel's drag coefficient whatsoever... i hope so, since i've tried FAR and NEAR and greatly prefer SDF.
  3. excited to watch this one develop! all too often i am lulled into a false sense of security when building my solar powered air/spacecraft, only to be unpleasantly surprised when i go to launch it...
  4. those Pretty Pictures in the first post are very nice, but do you think you could write out a description of what all this mod actually changes? e.g. "moho made a moon of jool and reduced gravity to 0.2g", or something like that? i am one of those people who like knowing exactly what they're getting before they download. this looks impressive!
  5. just wanted to mention that this is now part of my essential mods list, and the only way it could possibly be better is with the ability to create non-round shapes (mainly rectangular and hexagonal prisms)... particularly when it comes to rovers, square parts are perfect.
  6. thanks for this! this is what was going wrong for me. now everything is working out pretty well. however, the surface of my planet has a somewhat shiny, icy appearance to it, that i do not want. (compare eeloo to tylo). does anyone know what causes this and how to fix it? i assume it's something to do with the normal map...
  7. it just so happens that i was struggling to make a planet the other day, so this tutorial is very appreciated! i got as far as checking the planet out in the tracking station. looked fine, except for the white smear caused by the blank normal map. however, after i told kittopia to export the scaled space, it turned into an ugly, bumpy, oceanless laythe clone. any idea what caused this? i assume it's on the KT side of things, but i've looked through both .cfgs a couple times and cannot find anything wrong with either of them. (i can pastebin them if you'd like). before and after screenshots are here
  8. looks pretty neat. will try this out once the stars are real.
  9. fantastic! been wishing for something of the sort since the time i planted my very first flag.
  10. just wanted to add my voice to those expressing a desire for a .90-compatible version. thank you for all you have done; this is truly one of the most essential mods out there!
  11. it's working on 0.90 for me, with a number of mods (too many to list right now).
  12. hey, so, i started a new career save on a (fairly) stock game and played around with (read: tried to break) kopernicus a bunch (landers, rover, planes, etc). i'm impressed, to say the least! the only bug i discovered is a graphical one. the only graphics mod i have installed is Distant Object Enhancement, so i don't believe it's a mod conflict. i've supplied two screenshots of it below... it seems to be something funky to do with how the night side of the planet is rendered (particularly the terminator). screenshot #1 (please note, i tweaked the levels in photoshop a bit so you can see it more clearly) screenshot #2 it has zero effect on the actual gameplay.
  13. i don't know how i missed this before. been waiting for something of the sort ever since i started building airplanes... thanks so much!
  14. just wanted to pop in to say that what you guys are doing is amazing; i wait with bated breath. i hope that once this is released it gets the attention of some really good planet designers. for me, one of the biggest downfalls of PF was that so many of the planet packs added very little new content; just more same-size gas giants with rocky moons. hopefully the fact that now planets will need to be designed from scratch will force more creativity. (i am, however, a bit concerned that the MET in that screenshot up there seems to have a negative value!)
  15. so i've been playing with this again and decided to give dres a (very tenuous) atmosphere. (because dres needs all the help it can get). it seemed to work, until i actually tried to land a probe. the planet doesn't render at all from orbit (there's just literally nothing there), and below about 30km, it renders as completely black. (there's just a huge area where the sky isn't.) when i finally touched down (at a reasonable speed), everything spontaneously combusted. map view works just fine, though.
  16. wow, this may be the kOS killer app i have been waiting for! i will have to try this out.
  17. I had two standard medium-size clamp-o-trons attached via radial attachment points. I also tried it with just one of them, attached directly to the top of the ship. Yes, it was launched after contract acceptance.
  18. so this is pretty awesome but i'm having some real trouble with one of the types of contracts -- the space station one. specifically, i can't get the second item (Build a new orbital station that has power generation, an antenna and a free docking port) to check off. at first i thought it might be because i was using non-stock solar panels and antennae, so i tried with stock and still no luck. the remaining three are all OK. ideas?
  19. this looks totally great! one request; i have no idea how plausible this is. in addition to breaking symmetry, is there any possibility of reducing symmetry? i.e. let's say i have 4x symmetry on a part. the press of a button it would convert it to two pairs of 2x symmetry.
