  1. Damn you're good man. Love the KSC on an Island theme.
  2. I've taken a rover to the south pole once. At one point I saved because the terrain seemed dangerous, and then found out I could not advance further without blowing up. I planted a flag to name the location "Suicide Point" It's madness to make a base there. and I wish you luck =)
  3. @FelbournIn episode 9, around the 7min mark, you have this capsule that looks like an improved Orion capsule. What mod is that from ? I'd really like to use that on my designs. Thanks and enjoying the series !
  4. This is the first one I took... I had just understood how to make good rovers, and I wanted to post it on the forums here. So I created an account both here and Imgur, and posted ! One is a Opportunity rover look-alike (which was destroyed when they changed the small control surfaces in 0.24 or 0.25, not sure). The other is the "Lunar One" a Heavy Rover both automated or controlled via a command seat. I had drove the Opportunity to the Lunar and took a picture of them both together. I've loved roving ever since (please fix the wheels soon Squad, thanks !) I remember it taking me at least 12 hours to get the hang of landing on the moon to deliver them there, let alone understanding how to make the ship itself. In my KSP universe, probes got to the Mün first... On December 22, 2013. ( Had been playing since Early-November... I think. It's around there. ) EDIT: I have an older picture from November 2nd 2013, but it's just a set of landing gear on the Arctic continent of Kerbin , I probably did that by mistake so it did not count, lol
  5. I did not try the remake of Carrier command because I heard it was a scripted battle with human marines... Which is not what the original was about. A far cry from "The ACC Omega was taken up by terrorist and threatened activation against an archipelago to destroy it if they did not receive 15 billion dolars... Then the Govt activated "you" an automated older model carrier, the ACC Epsilon . which explained why the attack aircraft and amphibious vehicule lost radio contact and crashed." Which is most likely why the game failed. It alienated it's original fans (there isn't 10 million of us) and failed to grab the audience of today (unlike KSP to some extent). A shame, but improving on remakes is not a good idea if you don't keep their core ideas intact. X-Com (Again, the original, why do remakes sucks? They really should learn to upgrade graphics/sounds, and fix bugs and stop) is one of my top 10 fav games of all times. I've not played seriously in years, but even with an emulator it's getting harder and harder to play.
  6. Nah allowing me to put my ship on the launch area without Kerbin's gravity destroying it in 3 sec,
  7. OK I understand... Alt-F12 from the VAB is missing some options. By looking at your sceenshot, I just put some clamps on my mothership and went to fly it... THEN I could hack Gravity. Thanks !
  8. Trying to test a mothership of mine in space pre-assembled, hit alt-F12, every cheat is there except "Hack Gravity" Where did SQUAD move it to ?
  9. Interesting, I'll download it for now and play stock wheels. If I see some crazy stuff happening, I'll install your mod. To note that most of the time I put plane wheels on rovers as they did the job better, while having an engine and some fuel to not have to mash "W" for hours on end... .
  10. The "Spider" is the worst... even on small probes. (Why not use the Twitch instead ? Or Ions?) The "Puff" isn't so great either. Bad ISP combined with having lots of RCS tanks to make a huge tank (unless you have fuel tweak mod(s) ). But at least it's useful as atmo-retro burner with a pod's onboard RCS fuel. Better to line up some verners instead Imho, if you don't mind holding the "H" key for a while. But then again I'm not much into tiny crafts.
  11. Endgame is where I used to run out of RAM to run the game. Now since my next game will be in 64-bits, this is highly unlikely. I think my next endgame will be having collected all biome science from every body (and I will have OPM mod installed so...), this means exploration and return vehicles on every planet/moon. The only challenge here is Laythe/Tekto because water, and Eve because high gravity(returning). One of my goals is also to make a grand tour (with exploring as mentioned above), and build a few bases (Mun, Duna, Pol, Tekto, Urlum(this will be my big pet project) and maybe Plock). I also have a few custom parts that I've rescued from abandonware which I can only use after the full tree is unlocked (personal limitation) to help with that. Will I ever reach my end-game? perhaps. At least running out of Ram will not be the main problem anymore, and just that prospect feels good. I think I'll take the habit or archiving my save games on a weekly basis, in case something breaks. Dunno if 1.2 will be ready before I start. I seriously hope so, because I want wheels fixed so bad and I don't want to have to start over (most stuff should work, but you just never know, then there's mods updating).
  12. World of Tanks / World of Warships, Ultima 5 or 7... sometimes Ultima4 or 3, SWTOR, WoW, Age of Wonder II, Carrier Command(AtariST), MidWinter(AtariST), Heart of Iron(I get a kick of playing the Chinese/PRoC), Master of Orion... I got quite a few oldies to change the mood. and World of ____ games are very intense, so if I need action to offset slow KSP sessions, it's perfect. There's also "Tharsis" which is pretty neat change of pace and doesn't take too much time. I also like watching a few of my favorite channels on Youtube. One of which posted in this thread... However I am about done with my break, and starting to fancy a Sarnus-5 (hence me having Galileo remake Tekto's clouds last week). Not sure I will use my previous motherships. Designing is part of the fun too.
  13. If anything this might make science progress in a worthy direction for space flight. We've been sitting on our backsides since the Apollo program was canned (excluding the shuttles and LEO projects). I've enjoyed the probes and super-telescope discoveries, but Back in '86 when I was 10, I was sure we'd be on Mars by now, heck, maybe starting the exploration of Jupiter... Not still sending probes. What we learn sending these "super probes" to Proxyma/Alpha Centauri should really help us getting on with space exploration. If there is a god in this universe, I hope s/he makes that new planet a real earth-2 and provoke us to get there asap. But regardless this is great news, the best since Gliese 581 (and the fabled "Zarmina's world" which could never be proven). Far better news than "Habitable planets" 1000+ LY away (yeah, GL getting there).
  14. Hey all a bit of a weird question, but I'm really failing my Google-fu with this one and I need help from other science nerds. KSP forum is as best a place as any. So back in 2009, National Geographic actually shown the show called "Alien Worlds". It was about exo-planet detection and had a lot of familiar names in it, like Jeff Marcy. I really loved that show and I had it saved on my PVR (which crashed in 2012). Ever since I've been trying to acquire the DvD (or better yet, the BluRay) of that single-episode show, to no avail. All I am finding is the American version called "Alien Earths" which is almost identical, but I do not like the Narrator and I really want the UK version called "Alien Worlds". I found it on Youtube, and in case ou are wondering what I am talking about, it's this (see below): So if anyone knows of a place where I could get my hands on the DvD/BluRay... PLEASE END MY SUFFERING and tell me where to purchase it. Thanks and have a good night all !
  15. I just did a picture snapshot of my evening on the thread "what did you do today", and my comment about it below. In a nutshell: Gorgeous and well done. Thank you.
  16. Today I travelled to Tekto. A sage named @Galileo apparently detected some clouds there yesterday, even tho the "SVE Telescope" never noticed any before... Had to check it out. After a long trek, we start seeing Sarnus (to the left of the ship): Making the Tekto encounter burn : Ha here's Tekto... What amazing clouds indeed! The green hue is very Kerbal-ish... Let's decelerate and land on it !! Crossing into the very slim orange layer... Still falling... The green clouds are back, and pretty thick : Engine module jettisoned and Parachutes semi-deployment. Still can't see a thing. Parachute fully deployed... is that ground I am seeing ? Yes, it is the ground... My is the Sun shy or what down there ! Touchdown ! Bob, you forgot the lights again didn't you ? Jeb's first flag on Tekto... He's quite happy to have made the trip. That's it. Galileo, I loved every bit of it and you made Tekto justice. The clouds could start much higher in the atmosphere tho. I don't know if it is possible to do well, but fist green layer ~80k, orange at ~60k, then re-green at ~45k all the way to about 1-3k from the surface or something. At any rate this is gorgeous. I sense an extensive exploration of Tekto is coming with my vacations this year. Thank you.
  17. I've installed it, I've send a ship with a 1-2 capsule equipped with parachutes. But I'm out of time for today and must start getting ready for work (slowly but surely). So arrival tonight most likely. Looking very good from what you've posted here so not worried... but I still wanted to check it out asap.
  18. Looking good so far. So green from the outside, a bit of orange when entering, then green on the floor (or just above)... This will be so sweet to land on it again
  19. Amazing, I love it ! Where you able to replicate the orange hue of one of the top layers as well ?
  20. I'd like to request the one with terrible performances as well, even if you don't make it public, if only to give it a shot with my system. Thanks again.
  21. It looks pretty close to the one showcased in this youtube video : https://youtu.be/SEvziceJXMM?t=1m46s (up to 2m24 sec). I cannot be 100% sure however... but the video is dated Oct. 5th 2015, and the mod was updated a month before. Pretty sure that's the one... In case you you are checking in details, it's the one with the orange clouds in the upper atmosphere and yet still show a green Tekto if viewed from space.
  22. Download Link (from page 1 of the above): https://mega.co.nz/#!eh1RyAzD!pvmcA13daCykRta7DNk4dMsaxdhmpOPFwE2FVe5aqtw ( If I understood what you wanted... because not sure ).
  23. great news, in the meantime, Galileo is making a config for Tekto in SVE. With any luck, we'll see something nice in the meantime =)
  24. I can't seem to find any easy way to edit SVE to make clouds denser, but so far it seems okay on most worlds I've tested on. Even Kerbin. EVE is different and I think I preferred the old 0.9 version. But the new one is still stunning. As for Tekto, Galileo is going to have a crack at it in the next couple of days... he told me it shouldn't be a problem Yeay !
