  1. I really like the style of those crafts! My B-2 Spirit bomber looked similar to the third one, but sadly was lost between updates (corrupted)!
  2. Hello everyone, I would like to present to you my aircraft replicas through the decades! Below is a list of the aircraft that I have recreated in KSP, as well as their year of introduction and a short sentence or two about each. A download link of the crafts is also provided below. The crafts utilize the Kerbal Aircraft Expansion mod by the user keptin because stock 0.90 does not have propellers or large landing gear, (and a large cockpit at the time some of these replicas were made). I tried to keep these crafts as stock as possible; I wanted to be as creative as possible. All crafts are flyable, and most are easy to do so. Sadly, I have lost a few crafts (due to updates through both KSP and KAX, and thus have lost some excellent crafts: Caproni Ca.4, B-17 Flying Fortress, Concorde (supersonic passenger jet), A-10 Thunderbolt, Boeing 747, B-2 Spirit Stealth Bomber, and Solar Impulse solar powered aircraft). Download Link for All Crafts (188 kB): http://www./download/6skg9kk74k3bz54/SpenSpaceCorp%27s+KSP+KAX+Replicas.rar#39;s_KSP_KAX_Replicas.rar 1. Wright Glider (1900) This was really nothing more than a manned kite. This craft was one of the Wright Brother's gliders that preceded the first powered flight in 1903. 2. Wright Flyer (1903) This was man's first heavier than air powered aircraft capable of sustained flight. It was flown by the Wright Brothers at Kitty Hawk in 1903. 3. Bleriot XI (1909) This French aircraft played a major role in the pioneer era in aviation history. It was the first aircraft to fly across the English Channel. It was later used competitively and in the First World War. 4. Sikorsky Ilya Muromets (1913) This large 4 engine Russian aircraft was used as a commercial aircraft as well as a bomber in WWI. Its design was based on the first 4 engine aircraft built (the Sikorsky Russky Vityaz; The Russian Knight) 5. Sopwith Camel (1917) This British biplane played a special role in WWI, outclassing many fighters of its time. Later, it became useful not as a fighter, but as a ground attack aircraft. 6. Douglas DC-3 (1936) One of the most significant transport aircraft ever made, the DC-3 revolutionized the way people and cargo was transported, both commercially and militaristically. 7. Henschel Hs 126 (1937) This small German aircraft was used in WWII as a recognisance aircraft. In a few short years, it was replaced by better suited aircraft. 8. P-38 Lightning (1941) This unique American WWII fighter featured a central cockpit with two booms carrying the two engines and the rear of the craft. It was also known as "two planes, one pilot". 9. F4U Corsair (1942) This formidable WWII American fighter was the most capable aircraft carrier based fighter of its time. This craft was also used in the Korean War. 10. Arado E.340 (1943) This German twin engine dive bomber was designed so that the pilot had an unrestricted view and the gunners had a large range. This project was ultimately cancelled. 11. Messerschmitt Me 262 (1944) This was the world's first operational jet powered aircraft. This was one of the most advanced firghters of its time as a multi-role military aircraft. 12. F-86 Sabre (1949) This transonic swept wing fighter was prominently used in the Korean War as a high speed fighter. 13. Cessna 172 Skyhawk (1956) This basic aircraft is considered the most successful aircraft in history. Introduced in 1956, this type of aircraft is still used today. More Cessna 172s have been built than any other aircraft. (A float plane variant replica has been included). 14. U-2 "Dragon Lady" (1957) This high altitude reconnaissance aircraft has served in the USAF for over 50 years. In its early days, the U-2 was involved in significant events during the Cold War (involved in the Cuban missile crisis). 15. MiG-21 Fishbed (1959) This USSR aircraft was recorded as the most-produced supersonic jet in history. It also had the longest production run of a combat aircraft. 16. Sr-71 Blackbird (1966) This US mach 3+ reconnaissance aircraft was able to simply outrun its enemies rather than engage in combat. It currently holds the fastest air breathing manned aircraft since 1976. 17. Boeing 737 (1968) The 737 series is the best selling jet airliner in history. Initially developed as a shorter and lower cost passenger aircraft, the 737 soon developed into a family of 9 variants. 18. F/A-18 Hornet (1983) This twin engine supersonic jet is able to carry a wide array of weapons, as well as fill many combat roles as a combat aircraft. Final Comments: -The dates provided are the dates the aircraft were introduced, not the dates of first flights. -User blackrack's Scatterer mod was used for screenshots. 3. Using a screenshot I edited of my Sopwith Camel in flight, I created my new wallpaper! Hope you all enjoy! Note: The picture itself may look off centered in the post, but the actual image is centered.
  4. I view the learning wall as you said; a more difficult learning curve, but I would not associate all things in KSP like that; some things are more difficult to learn, but they are still definitely learnable, while others are not as difficult as one may think.
  5. What if the 2 months are a reference to in-game time? such as a transfer window, or something appear etc at the two month period? Just a thought.
  6. Failure is part of the learning curve; I would call it a failure if you did not fail and thus did not learn what you otherwise would have! "You never fail until you stop trying" (Albert Einstein)
  7. I set my morning alarm to play Kenny Loggin's Danger Zone because if I snooze, I will be on the highway to the danger zone (snoozing past an exam)!
  8. My music tastes aren't suited to everyone's, but I am DEFINITELY playing Metallica's Fuel when I mine for resources (fuel) for the first time! So gimme fuel Gimme fire Gimme that which I desire! Stay metal! \m/
  9. Perhaps add more diverse parts; fuel tanks, pods, etc. that would create more of a boom! At the moment it appears not much would really collide as spectacularly as it could. EDIT: or the game engine does not register it completely as it is a small frame of time.
  10. Step 1: Achieve orbit Step 2: Achieve escape velocity Step 3: Wait a year or so Step 4: Post your (now year long or so) attempt (on a probably now-dead thread) Step 5: Profit! (I really want to attempt this, but... finals haha)
  11. Cessna 172 Float Plane Craft Download: http://www./download/66kxac6a68ba3od/Cessna+172+Skyhawk+%28Floatplane%29.rar This replica aircraft is all stock except for one part: the KAX (Kerbal Aircraft Expansion) turboprop engine. KAX Link: http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/76668-0-90-Kerbal-Aircraft-Expansion-%28KAX%29-v2-3-4 As this is a float plane, this aircraft can land in the water with exceptional results! rarely does it crash from amphibious landings (as it tends to simply bounce up if landed too hard). Water take-offs are no problem too! This craft is also really safe, as the pilot tends to survive. Displayed (and described) below are some what would otherwise be deadly crashes. Here is the craft in flight: This is the first controlled crash. I nosedived the craft into the ground at a very steep angle of attack around 110m/s. The end result was about half the plane surviving the first impact to actually fly off and crash again. The pilot survived. This second controlled crash hit the side of the VAB at about 80m/s. The pilot again survived.
  12. *Raises glass filled with rocket fuel and an engine at the bottom which takes off in a fiery glory*
  13. I hope the resource system will somehow locate an orbiting fuel anomaly in a polar orbit around Ike!!! (cue magic boulder)
  14. Following the last devnote before 1.0 launches, Bob (Roverdude) announced there is going to be a new easter egg involved with the new resources/resources system! Bob (Roverdude): "Lastly, we’re taking bets on how long before the community discovers the resources easter egg we snuck in for you (I’m betting two months post launch). One hint: It’s a pretty large easter egg." Happy hunting!
  15. Although my fondness for KSP is great, I would never let it get in the way of my academics. EDIT: I am soooooo glad that my finals will be done before the 27th!
  16. Correct me if I'm wrong, but would'nt these planetary analogs be: Moho, Eve, Kerbin, Duna, (possibly Dres) are terrestrial, and (possibly Dres), Jool, and (possibly) Eeloo are Jovian? (Eeloo and Dres may be the only two dwarf planets).
  17. I live out in the country, and to provide a relative idea of how slow the internet is, it can take a youtube ad (one of those "5 second click to skip" buttons) almost half a minute to a minute to load. That is just one example I can think of. Anyhow, we have tried many different solutions (routers, boosters, etc) and nothing has worked; some people just have slow internet haha!
  18. I really look forward to placing a missile inside a small utility bay plane inside a Mk. 2 cargo bay plane inside a Mk. 3 cargo bay plane carried by a large fairing type of plane!!!
  19. I am finishing my first year of uni and have taken an intro geophys course haha!
  20. Hmmmm, how will I play? with my laptop !
