Mine's the customization. The level of detail and freedom that KSP's customization brings, with an almost limitless capacity for creativity and fun, with every part of a ship working dynamically together.

(if i'm wrong about this, PLEASE direct me to a game with customization as good as ksp! seriously! i'd love to play it!)

so, what's yours?

Let's face it, the whole reason I buy KSP is for SPAAAAAACE and it close to reality orbital mechanism. I learn so many thing from it that now every idea of story, game movie i have must at least respect real space maneuvering thing.

In close second position is the whole aspect of fun engineering. That taught me some little thing to (ISP, DV,TWR... you can't fool me anymore).

im not 100% sure, but i spend more time building things than actually flying things.

Launching ships to do various tasks and get to play around, docking, Finding things on planets like arches, Getting is all back home etc

Asteroids was a brilliant implimentation into the game, havnt caught one yet tho :P

Whatever it is, its nice.

The moment of successful mission completion is my favorite part.

My first successful Munar landing happened after 16 hours of continuous planning, building, testing, and actual flight time. A friend and I played together with Skype sharing screens and the moment my lander touched down without rapid unplanned dis assembly was absolutely amazing.

The sandbox nature of the game - even in career mode. It makes you think, plan, and set your own goals and ambitions, and it doesn't crowd you with scripted events or things you're expected to do in a specific way.

And sometimes awesome accidents happen that would never have entered into a scripted game and you feel like you're Einstein's brain in Chuck Norris' body :)

KSP is a knockout combination of all of my favorite things: Video games, physics, sandbox, open-world, customizable, and anything to do with space.

I love KSP because I can built rockets that go to space! It's space, guys! Isn't it cool, what we can do if we apply ourselves a little? It's amazing!

That, and planets look mega awesome when viewed from orbit :3

It's probably fact that you have a bunch of parts which are useless alone but when you combine them, you can do almost ANYTHING! You are limited only by imagination (and kraken of course :D ). And a whole system is driven by accurate orbital mechanics, aerodynamics and it has Kerbals!! :D :D

Mine is the whole tycoon element. I've only played since 0.23, but I really love the career element of the game. It's not that I dislike flying the ships themself (on the contrary actually), but what really appeal to me is the management of the spaceagency as a whole. Planning missions, balacing funds, engineering ships capable of fulfilling the planned missions etc.

I brought KSP for the "SPAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACE" and was all like SPACESHIP!!!..

then came the trains.. I like trains.. I like Kerbal Space Program, I discovered such a thing as a land train was designed in the 1950s to service early warning radar stations in alaska etc..

I combined the two.. started modding mods...

its replaced gmod and train simulators as my modding playground..

modding things so voltages, diesel engines and alternators work in harmony..

a 30km trip is something to be proud of... refueling a coastal outpost station so that the generator can

power the station lights into the night.. dropping off kerbals

I love kerbal space program.. not so much for the space.. but because we have entire damn planets to play with..

everyone has their thing.. eventually i'll get a train on jool :)

they might not be super detailed.. but try driving for 60km on the surface of kerbin carelessly and it wont end well..

day night cycles. refueling.. lights dimming when locomotives are in full warcry battling a hill with all the generated power going to the bogeys..

its the little details are really stand out.. the small things that just seem to be there.. unmodded..

squad did a damn fine job.. the history of KSP and its creation is amazing.. especially for a game company that... well.. actually wasnt a game company

best 30 dollars I ever spent..

soooo. whats my favorate part of KSP...

its KSP.. thats my favorate part :)

that and explosions.. with the capability to turn something happy and carefree into heartbreaking in meer seconds if you get too cocky...

much like chuck here and an early landliner train paying their respects to a fallen crew before
