The floating right eye

Recommended Posts

Little known (read: made up) fact about Kerbals is that they have extendable eyes that they can use to look around and look at themselves without a mirror (try clicking windows and zooming in when you are in IVA in some pods/cockpit - that is how it works!)

On topic: yeah that's weird, though not sure how easy it'd be to fix.

Presumably someone at squad can do 3D modeling, and since they have time to make a whole new female kerbal model, I would think they can fix this fairly quickly. Especially if this is going to be 1.0. Finished games shouldn't have graphical errors of course.

Most "finished games" have a plethora of graphical problems, just not visible unless you dig for them.

My barely educated guess: around half an hour.

This... strongly depends on what is causing it. Sometimes it could be as "simple" as a bad union between two primatives; other times it could be problems with the normal face (if that poly was reversed for what ever reason), in other times it could be even deeper issues resulting from bad mapping, or other rendering issues.

I have 'extremely minor' experience here, of course; but sometimes even small tiny errors can become nightmares in figuring out why it is happening. Hopefully it is as simple as just filling the hanging edge to the face; but who knows what is really going on.

It depends on how the eye is connected to the animation. It may be as simple as extending the mesh into the head, but doing that may mess up other things. If they would do an art-pass on kerbals and fix the eye and mouth issues, and any other issues that come up, kerbals might be 1.0 ready.
