I try to make a Payload Fairing for my Delta II 7925

What\'s the diameter of your stage? I plan to make delta II type fairing for Ariane 5, as a variant for bigger, but lighter payloads. Can resize it for you.

Well last night ( I´m from Germany so atm its 8 pm =D ) I had some time and tried out blender a little bit and well i think the result is not bad for my first attempt.

ww4mvm5qlxkv.jpg

(From bottom to Top -> 3 m high / 1m in diameter -> then from a 1m to a 1.25m diameter with a hight of ~ 0.25 or so -> 3m high / 1.25 m in diameter -> from a 1.25 to a 0.5 in diameter and then the rounded 'Nose')

but i made it to big for my planed Delta 2 and if i make it in game ready it only shows the outside of the Fairing not the inside xD.

Looks so nice, good job. I\'m from Czech Republic, so we are in the same time zone.

To your problem: Go to the edit mode (Tab Key) and select all, after go to the faces (ctrl+f) and select 'soldify', after press 's' to scale new faces, you will understand after your try. After press 'n' (It will show you a new panel on the right), got to the edit mode, and in new panel on the right go to Mesh display and click on the symbol with selected face. It will show you what faces are showing inside and what faces are showing outside. If you have some problems, select problematic face, go to mesh- Normals- and now click to 'recalculate ouside' or inside, how you need.

I hope you understood.

Anyway, I recommend to use ctrl+a in the object mode and apply rotation and scale.

Hi, i\'m from germany too and also trying to make the Delta II fairings... that\'s my story: i finished the fairing (pretty basic and not textured but enough for my needs), then i tried to import it into the game. That didn\'t work and crashed my whole game. And now the fairing part is broken and everytime i try to open it, it just shows me the basic 'new-project cube' from blender. Does anybody know how to import files correctly, \'cause i just threw the file in there and expected it to work :D

On top of that: i\'m normally a texturer so my blender knowledge is far from decent ;)

Thanks. :) But this still isn\'t fully-detailed version, because I thing the main tower is so poor. Current version of the launch pad has about 3200 polygons, so I have some space for more details. Rocket has 19300 poly\'s.

Beautiful! As i understand (from page 3), the launchpad will be movable. Since there are no railtracks on the runway, i\'m wondering what approach you will take towards the undercarriage of the launchpad. The original launchpad has 16 bogies with each 4 wheels, i.e. 64 wheels in total. That number of wheels is probably unfeasible, so what are your plans on that side?

So, as far as I understand, the launchpad can drive and will be started on the space plane runway right? Could you add an attachment node on the bottom so people can try to lift it on the moon? Wouldn\'t be much work but a lot of fun ;)
