blackrack
Something looks much, much better than the current version here. Is it the glow at the edge of the atmosphere? Anyway, that looks amazing. What a nice birthday present.THe glow at the edge of the atmosphere is actually the stock edge glow effect, I haven't tuned it yet, I might disable it or tone it down, the glow at the edge of the first pic looks very excessive. bac9
@blackrack, @rbray89The change to the Material constructor we have talked about earlier just went into the first Unity release (5.2.0b1).Shaders must come from assets or be fully precompiled in the editor.Next version of KSP is unlikely to use 5.2 as it's unlikely to leave the beta soon enough, but it's worth reminding I guess. Proot
Also, I just noticed something from that pic, if the EVE orbital clouds had a normal map they could look much more impressiveI think remember... Eve clouds had normal maps a lot of versions ago. Which was pretty cool for some things... I think Rbray89 put out the normals after a few versions with the particle system, because was pretty expensive in performance terms (normals for the particles and for 8k cloudmaps... this is ksp, you know...).Maybe a 4k normal map would be enough to achieve certain effects, but I don't know how will be the result of the cloud map+normal in combination with the particles without normals... Svm420
A question I have is will this be able to render different scattering depending on solar light color? I ask because I have used kopernicus to switch Kerbal out for a blue main sequence star. I know many other things are being worked on and that the author Is quite busy, but I was curious if this would be possible as I wondered what the scattering from a blue star might look like. Thanks. The mod is super amazing.

The mod is super amazing. The current implementation is a quick adaptation of proland's code, the equations used for precomputing the scattering tables assume a white solar light color. In theory it's possible to change the solar light color but it's not a priority for me right now. There has also been a lot of academic work lately that improves on Bruneton's atmospheric scattering method, faster calculations, multiple suns (concurrent scattering from multiple sources), different color suns are all possible http://i.imgur.com/NZUtcU3.png but these would all be further down the road. Grach
Does this look like a good temporary solution for the orbital view?http://i.imgur.com/RcSeeHF.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/VRaY90b.jpgEdited: Also, no more z-fighting and weird stuff at high altitude as well as a smooth transition to soupy ocean level.Looks pretty good, but Kerbin looks overexposed. Is it possible to tone down the brightness a bit?

Seorl
Hello everyone. I'm not sure this is the right thread to post, but I have a wierd issue with EnvironmentalVisualEnhancements 7.4 and Scatterer. Are they compatible at this moment? I've seen screenshots with these mods used together, and they looked fine. Anyway, problem is odd constant shivering between clouds from EVE and atmosphere from Scattering. Looks like this http://i.imgur.com/4dMjiX5.gif. If I zoom out a bit, everything looks normal, - http://i.imgur.com/CfjuvmW.jpg - so it is depending from altitude, which is approximately about 300 km. Effect is reproducing on KSP 1.0.4 both 32-bit and 64-bit versions. Can I do some, I dunno, tweaking to fix this?Scatterer is a amazing looking mod by the way, especially in atmosphere. Thank you for your time. : )

idPhobos
Apropos of nothing in particular. Some great reference for either Scatterer or EVE. http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2015/07/10/science/An-Image-of-Earth-Every-Ten-Minutes.html?_r=0I think it shows a subtle normal map on the clouds and a slight blue tint to the cloud shadows would help a ton Edited July 11, 2015 by idPhobos

Windspren
I am now angry at the KSP Forum Mods. Why do you have to spread rep around before giving to the same person again?!? WHY???
