New KSP 1.0 Part property: bulkheadProfiles

I noticed that every part now contains a new propery called bulkheadProfiles

Example:

bulkheadProfiles = size2, srf

What does bulkheadProfiles do? Is it required and what is the default value when missing?

I guess it has some effect on reentry effects, but I'm hust guessing ...

it's for the profile sorting in the Editor AFAIK

It seems to be used only for part sorting in the Editor. I guess to group the sizeX and mkX part together.

bulkheadProfiles is for sorting? Why didn't thy call it sorting or something like it. Is it some kind of multi categorising system?

Maybe because they wanted you to be able to sort according to...bulkhead profiles.
