How to Change the Max Temperature of a Part?

Just like the title says. The capsules have ridiculously high maximum temperatures, making heatshields useless. I went into their cfg files, but under temperature, there where two numbers. Which one should I change?

I assume one of them is something like "Thermal_Mass" and the other one is "Max_Temp"?

The one that isn't thermal mass is the one you want. (Haven't looked at the .cfg, one sec)

Oh. I think it's the second number, not sure.

Stupid me, that second number is commented out. It does nothing.

the only way to tell them apart is that one is bigger than the other and they separated by a " // "

Ok. I'll change that, take it down by about a thousand. That should fix it.

Ok, not a thousand. Just afew hundred should make reentry WAY more dangerous!

OK, I'm doubting myself again here. Will changing just the max temp just make them explode all the time? Should I also change the thermal mass so that they don't soak up all the heat? How would I go about changing the thermal mass?

The number after the // appears to be the old maxTemp (0.90).

// means to start a comment, in cfg (as it does in C-derived languages like C#) so everything after // is ignored.

was thinking to do the same thing, tho its for a 14 cm guns on my submarine, so i was thinking of changing the temp gorge so it can survive under water
