This has got me thinking. Do I land on one of the moons of kerbin for the first time?

Nah

I had to get a piece of the action.

I went to Minmus and back using only RCS. 2 tanks. Stock parts, btw.

Actually, forget mountains. I\'m gonna try a Free return from Minmus.

That\'s fairly easy with the new patched conics system!

EDIT: A real challenge would be to get a free return from Minmus, and the be flung back to Kerbin using the Mun\'s gravity!

Did the Free Return. It actually is harder than one might think, since the system only shows your next orbit, not the following two, by default (which I am using.)

I\'ll link some pictures in a second.

Edit: Here they are

On the pad:

Heading to Minmus! The orbits got a bit weird here... no idea why. I thought for a second I was going to be thrown back to Kerbin, thenthe Mun, and maybe, if I\'m lucky, back to Kerbin. But no.

The upside down tricoupler is not modded, I simply rotated it with the new ability to do so.

So first spaceplane and first heavy spaceplane are \'small\', then?

Well, the first thing that was supposedly a 'space plane' would never fly like a real one. I will however, put you down as the first person to land a spaceplane on Minmus because of the Ibis craft you posted.
