Blender + Unity = FFFUUUUU

Launch Unity, Assets->Import New Asset..., select a .blend file, and --

Blender could not convert the .blend file to FBX file.
You need to use Blender 2.45-2.49 or 2.58 and later versions for direct Blender import to work.

I\'ve tried Blender 2.58 as well as 2.63a; results have been just the same.

Does someone know how to fix that?

Ofc I can still export to .DAE or .FBX (I\'ve FBX exporter installed and enabled)... but that\'s not quite convenient.

Thought that KSP only use the DEA file format. Or are you making another game?

KSP v0.15 uses .MU format in addition to .DAE.

UPD. Searched the internetz. Problem is quite common; they advise to 'use another Blender' (which didn\'t help in my case), 'report a bug to Unity', or 'wait for them to fix it' :\'(

Doh sorry did not know that. hopefully they will fix it. Though, should the bug not be in the blender exporter instead of unity?

Just export as DAE or whatever. I do this all the time.

Shouldn\'t You export from blender using built in FBX exporter and then import to unity?

Thanks, that\'s exactly what I\'m doing right now. Read an opening post once again. >:(

The question concerns Unity built-in Blender support. Which is ain\'t working.

For unknown reason, Unity works well with Blender today ???. Yesterday I\'ve been chaotically installing and uninstalling different versions of Blender (and ofc different versions of Python)... and it seems that, after rebooting a computer, one of them has finally made it work ::).

Well, dancing around a comp playin\' tambourine usually helps)))

Well, you can export stuff to DAE or OBJ, but the point is to get it to work with .blend files like it's supposed to. I wonder, what could've caused this?

Well, if im need use new file format , im need replace every mesh, every texture... its so long time.

If i cant fix that , im stop making addons.... maybe now time "just play" ((

NOOOOOOOOOO Mr. Bob Cat don't stop! Reinstall Unity maybe? There has to be some way to fix it. If not, get a bigger hammer. Or take it out back and shoot at it. That's how I solve my computer problems.

Well, when blender gives you bad export options.

step 1; get a crowbar

step 2; hold crowbar firmly in hand.

step 3; go to the blender offices....

step 4; ???

step 5; run from police

step 6; hide, got on a computer. tell us how it went.
