Recommended Posts

One of my toys, figured i would share.

Titan Interceptor mk1

KSkThzM.jpg

Description:

Capable of mach 4 at any altitude this jet is designed to do one thing well and that is go fast, it has 4-10g's of acceleration depending on the altitude and is built with internal strengthening that allows 30+g turns, and before you ask yes it does space with only liquid fuel, heck it actually carries 2 oxidizer tanks you could probably orbit the bugger.

Action groups:

1: Toggle engines

2: Toggle rapier mode

flight instructions:

Good luck lol

Looks funny, will try it out! :) BTW, could you upload a second version without the music? Our lovely GEMA here in germany blocked the video because of the music... :sealed:

No worries man i will later, did not expect SoD to be in on the copyright lol

TheDoctor;1978377']How does the heat not cause that thing to self detonate? I get something going 800 m/s and it becomes fireworks!

beautiful design anyway!:D

Lotsa parts, the more parts the more the heat is distributed throughout the craft :) should be right to do 900m/s reliably without going boom at sea level, first things to go boom are normally air intakes btw, i still have no idea how to stop them being first lol.

WOW, it seems those extra parts really help the temps. I'm going to have to try adding more internal bits to my inteceptor because its temp caps at just over 1000m/s

I would put a nose cone on front for more speed less boom.

If you have the right setup of wings/heat resistant parts in front of the intakes they will no longer overheat, and still intake air. Seems to work fine if the intakes are about the length of the short MK1--> MK2 adaptor behind the heat deflecting parts. I've used this trick myself to protect vulnerable large solar panels from high speed friction. Might be a bit harder to protect the intakes though. They are a bit bigger then the narrow profile of a solar array.

Threw something together real quick - can just get over 1,400m/s (not sustained) and return to land.

The engine nacelle intakes are much more resilient when it comes to over-heating. Basically at this point, your entire ship is going melt evenly. :)
