When I downloaded your mod, I saw that there were multiple MM files in each part folder. I went and cleaned it up a bit by removing all patch files in each folder and put them into their own folder, and allocating one file for each mod that needed it's own config to properly work with it's intended mod. Basically, reduced the number of files, and tidied things up quite a bit.

I did this for my personal installation, but if you want, you can use them if you'd like. Here's the link where you can download and check out what I did. In that file, I also reduced the textures from 1024x1024 to 512x512 for everything as the models + textures aren't that detailed. All in all, the mod size went from 10Mb's down to 3Mb's.

If you would like me to remove the download link, just shoot me a message. I primarily linked it so you could check out the patches to see if you wanted to use them so as to clean things up a bit.

Have a nice day!

Thanks!

I had them as multiple MM patches per part mostly for my sanity, but also because I envisioned people deleting patches if they didn't want that antenna to perform a task.  I'll definitely consider consolidating them for when ever I update the mod again.

I also have to admit I never really considered texture size before.  I'll make sure to address that next patch.

I've created a new overhaul of this package including new config files for all antennas balanced for integration with stock.  It includes a new consolidated MM patch for both stock and OPM setups using Antenna Range.  For now, both the Telemachus patches and RT patches have been removed.  In the future I will also look at adding in new configurations for Remote Tech but that may take a while because I haven't used RT in over a year and will need to get up to speed.  Telemachus is currently awaiting an update to KSP 1.1.x and MM files for that will be added in once it has been released.

This version only works under KSP 1.1.x and requires Module Manager 2.6.23+ (included).  If you choose to use this version PLEASE remove all previous versions of Antennas before installing.  Failure to do so will result in unpredictable behavior.

Edit:

forget it, beginner's mistake, of course now I had to enable the antenna - and I recognized that the AntennaRange settings are of course not the same as the RemoteTech patched settings, now the H1X only has a range of 70Mm or 70,000Km ... darn

I added RemoteTech.

I don't get a connection with the H1X - my distance to Earth is 675,000 km - none of the chosen target stations on Earth are in range ...
The H1X says nominal range 222Gm what is 222,000,000 km if I'm right.

Love this mod, but one request..

Can you please add snap nodes to the bottom of the antenna bases? I like placing them on the nose of my satellites, and its a real bugger to position it without a snap point so it doesn't cause wobble!

Edit: I see that there is in fact a node on the bottom of the Helical antenna, but it doesn't seem to actually snap to anything...why is that?

The node does attach if you flip it upside-down. From there, you can rotate the part 180 degrees so it's not poking into your vessel.

Otherwise: if you're still up to it, could you maybe add a midrange directional antenna, one somewhere in between the existing helical antenna and the big interplanetary antennae? At least with the setup I've got*, nothing but those big interplanetary antennae will reach from low Jool orbit to the outer Jool moons, and those antennae have such a narrow beam that they're hard to use for anything but interplanetary communications.

*KScale64, etc; it probably holds for stock but I'm not quite as sure. If it's not obvious, I'm trying to set up relay satellites around every major body.

Fixing the attachment nodes has been on my to do list for a while.  If I get enough free time to sit down and really look into it I would love to update it.

will you be making this compatible with stock 1.2? I'm not asking when, cause I know that's against forum rules, just if it's going to happen.

If that's also against the rules...sorry mods! I didn't know!

If you need help testing I'd be glad to lend a hand.

I really don't know, I'm in the middle of separating from the military and getting a civilian job while going back to school so I don't have a lot of free time anymore.  If I get a chance to look at the new version I will certainly try to update the mod.

I have a few more designs for antennas that I'd like to make, but like I said above I just don't have much free time anymore.

Given that antennas just look so spacey I wanted to get this working.  I made some replacement configs to persuade the parts to work in KSP 1.2.1.  I hope no one is going to mind but I thought I'd release them.

Download the latest official version http://spacedock.info/mod/98/Antennas, then bung my new configs over the top.

https://themoose.co.uk/ksp/AntennasPatch.zip (just the part config files)

This adds tags, moves the parts into the new communication category and adds 1.2 style antenna power values.

The Yagis both relay.  The little helix is really low power and won't combine.  Apart from that I didn't really spend time thinking about it.  If anyone knows about antennas or has any suggestions, let me know.  Oh, I tried to sort out the attachment nodes, too.

The patch is by Z-Key Aerospace, please don't pester DTPhantom about it.  License is CC-BY-SA-NC 4.0.

nice work, as always.

Do any of these antenna have deployment animations or are they just static, I forget.
