Mobile spaceport

Hi all.

I had nothing to do and I made for the lulz mobile spaceport. It has 4 pads for landing ships, and a lot of fuel. IT IS NOT FIT ON A LAUNCH PAD! You should build a tower from tanks.

It\'s not need launchers. It can fly to the moon itself. I didn\'t try to fly to Minmus, but you can change config if you need more fuel. Have fun!

Planned features in 1.1:

Monorail(will be animated if somebody tell me how to make it)

Config fixes

Hotel

Bigger landing pads

Some other buildings

When the Orbital Construction plugin comes back online, this needs to be an option. Pick a pad, then \'launch\' to that pad and launch from there.

Well, Orbital Construction is back online, but I should remind you that the precision of the teleports is +/- 1km or so (maybe larger numbers further away from KSC), so it may not be what you need for fine-tuning =P

Brighton Beach is prototype of this spaceport. I can make monorail road and some buildings, so that it will be true spaceport. But it will be hard to launch and land monorail, and I need somebody who can write plugin for train.

If you assemble it in the VAB, import it into the SPH, and the rotate it, you can lift off vertically on the runway with no obstructions.

If you assemble it in the VAB, import it into the SPH, and the rotate it, you can lift off vertically on the runway with no obstructions.

Maybe you could even make the whole thing be one part with part modules and multiple colliders

Why does this need an engine or fuel? couldn\'t this simply be strapped to a rocket, or have rocekts/landing engines strapped to the side?

I mean, launching a skyscraper into orbit and landing it on the moon is already pretty Jeb-like; it doesn\'t really need an engine. That stifles Kerbal ingenuity & creativity!

Curiousity:

Were those ships in the picture on the OP attached pre-flight, or were they landed there after the spaceport reached its destination?

Also, is it possible to have a larger version of the building? I wanna see this thing from space. *rimshot*

Well, i can\'t speak for OP, but I managed to land two ships on the pads, so it\'s certainly possible

but when you got an X-wing with a warp drive, well thats a game

(especially when you crash into the sun and insted of explode, you go out of the galaxy at the speed of light XD)

I\'m working now on new buildings - refueling stations (will be functional if someody will write plugin), monorail road, new launch pads and other.
