Anyone know what these things are?

Since 1.0 I`ve noticed these white blobs that appear then mostly shoot away from my craft. They don`t seem to have a purpose and only recently I found a static one so here are some screenshots.

It happens in stock although I am using many many mods normally.

I first noticed it when I was trying a fully stock game when 1.0 came out as I wanted to see what it was like now.

There was an old bug that occasionally put the POV of the camera under the surface of the world you were on, and there'd be a light source like that at the center of the planet. I think it's a misplaced bit of sunlight reflecting off the surface of the planet. Anyway, it's just a lighting hiccup.

The Blobs from Jool's atmosphere have finally gained the technology to leave their planet's gravity well and are speedily heading for Kerbin to seek revenge and wreak havoc. We shouldn't have crashed all these probes into the king of Kerbin's system.

I get those all the time. They become annoying. Most of the time they are just a white flash that seems to move along the path of the ships orbit. But really I think they are stationary, and the ship is moving past them.

But once I had a ship that landed on the Mun and one of these white spots was right there on the Mun surface. It lit up the whole area, cast shadows, etc.

I don't remember ever seeing them before I started using Distant Object Enhancement and Engine Lighting, so it could be related to one of those mods.

Looks like space spores to me. That or star jelly. Make sure you sterilize the whole ship after re-entry and quarantine the astronauts for at least a month.

I keep my astronauts permanently quarantined. That's why they are so eager to get away from KSC by jumping on board completely untested rockets.
