How to unlock stages ??

I can't progress to the next stage by using the space bar..the little pink light is on in the staging section I can't unlock it...How do you Unlock it?

pressing ALT+L (Windows), linux? Thats the stage toggle combination , prevents you from unplanned staging events.

It may happen that when you undock a ship, stage doesn't work even if it's not locked. You need to create a new stage and move all the next stage action to the new stage, then move the new stage to the right order, then you can space it.

Staging is also locked out when your cursor is over in the staging area on the left of the screen.

Jesus, there is stagelock in the game? Been playing for 2 years with over a thousand hours. I never knew that.

At this point in these threads, I always mention that the keyboard controls are listed on the Key Bindings page of the Wiki.

Poor game design forces players to go outside of the game to learn about it. That kind of stuff should be in tutorials, but I know how bad those are, even the "re-done" ones.

I'm in KSP right now and  I'm doing alt+L and nothing happens... HELP! I never even locked it in the first place!

Oh hah.... went to alt+f12 menu and cleared input locks, staging has never been better! Disregard message above

• Are you in timewarp? You cannot stage in on-rails timewarp. (You can stage in physics timewarp, which is the 2x, 3x, 4x mode you get inside an atmosphere.)
• Does pressing Alt+L change the staging light color/behavior, or is really nothing happening at all?
• Do you have an input lock? Press Alt+F12 to open the debug menu, go to input locks, and press the clear button. See if anything changes after that.
• Do you actually still have a stage remaining that could trigger? You may want your spacecraft to separate, but if you didn't correctly configure it in the editor...
• Does anything change if you quicksave (F5) and reload (F9)?
• Are you running any mods?
