CrisK
I'd be happy to record a fight or two, but I've moderately modified BDArmory on my install. All of these planes are a lot more deadly on my version of KSP, so the action doesn't last nearly as long. I posted this in another thread, but here's what dogfighting looks like on my install: Edited September 30, 2015 by CrisK
SpaceplaneAddict
Okay then, I think the butthurt has passed, I'll work on recording tomorrow, 'cause I'm a useless no-lifer.- - - Updated - - -Not to be a grump, but if your going to give us a save game, you need to include the two craft files for the planes too. I have no idea where the K-16 is and which version of the Skua? The Current champion version of the Arctic Skua. Also, I'm thinking Wnderfound meant my K-35, because I never actually posted an updatd K-16. I'm confused.

Clone your install? you can symlink the contents of the gamedata folder ( and most of the other KSP folders ) aside from BDA if you don't want to use more diskspace.I did an install from scratch just to make sure I didn't sneak anything modded in.Can someone give this thing a few runs & see if it explodes from overheating ( without being shot at obviously ).https://www.dropbox.com/s/pervwweuvjfpy2q/Stabber%20F_1.craft?dl=0 Edited September 30, 2015 by Van Disaster

Van Disaster
Given the builders putting scaffolding up outside, no I work from home, I can fiddle with this & do that at the same time.Edit: so the overheating issue is because I used a precooler, and when it runs out of fuel it's too light. Marvellous.Anyway this is today's effort - link to latest craft file in my sig while this contest runs.Tis a good idea, but still not agile enough so back to the drawingboard. Have fun with a new target though! ( I just noticed I'd installed StockBugFix - removing it & the RSAS fix hurt this thing pretty badly :S )Perhaps I can get time to vidcap a fight, I've lost track of the latest challengers though. SpaceplaneAddict
Alright, screw the K-35. It's too unstable! Alright, time to shamelessly steal another US aircraft and kerbalize it the Addiction Aeroworks way.- - - Updated - - -Nevermind, a redisgned K-16 helps a lot. Wanderfound
The Current champion version of the Arctic Skua. Also, I'm thinking Wnderfound meant my K-35, because I never actually posted an updatd K-16. I'm confused.Whoops, yep, K-35.For downloads, as flown in the fights (i.e. autopilot settings fixed, only one chaff dispenser, etc.):Arctic Skua https://www.dropbox.com/s/9adxgwbo96uxapq/K-3B1%20Arctic%20Skua.craft?dl=0K-35 https://www.dropbox.com/s/tnrynu54n9gwhdd/K-%2035.craft?dl=0- - - Updated - - -I can help. I have a YT account, and can record/upload. Just say what fighters, and I'll be good to go.The Fukker DR-3 could use a run against the Arctic Skua. Just make sure that the altitude (1410/2000m), speed (399m/s) and view settings (360 degrees) are all good, check to ensure no more than one each of chaff/flare, set 'em up (with one facing east and the other facing west) and let 'em go.For camerawork, I usually try to swap between the ships on a fairly regular basis, and keep the camera pointed at the opposition (or any incoming missiles). SpaceplaneAddict
Alright, I'll get started tomorrow. I just woke up in the middle of the night because I'm suuuuch a good sleeper. Vid is planned to get out at about 7:00pm MST. IF nothing goes wrong.- - - Updated - - -I just noticed the typo in your post. My stomach hates me cause I laughed so much. Faukker DR-3. Hodo
As with any fighter jet problems, the answer is usually two:MOAR STRUTSMOAR ELAVATORSNot always the case, those are quick fixes for poor designs. If you have a solid enough design, you dont need a great deal of struts, or elevators. Some of my most successful designs didnt have a great deal of either. Van Disaster
Van Disaster, I'm just going to PM you the results of the Faukker DR3 and Arctic Skua. From there, why don't you fight your latest fighter?Because it'll lose 7/10 - I tuned it with StockBugFix RSAS, for some reason removing the subtle fix destroys it's edge. Strange but that's how it is.Admittedly that was *yesterday's* latest. Today's is decidedly old-school but looking good.

crashsolo36
Hey peeps KSP-JA(jamaica) here, just joint the forum and thought i would join in the fun.with my little entry. The J45-M1.Fly's very stable at high speeds. still working on low speed though. performance doesn't change with or without payload. still need to work on a few things though. DoctorDavinci
It would help me a lot if I wasn't the only one recording the fights, BTW. The workload is getting a little excessive; recording other people's flights is taking up all of my KSP time.I can run bouts on my system if you need the help .. I'm easily managing 2v2 bouts3.7 A8 w/6gigs ram running W10
Van Disaster
The problem with this damn Skua is the pilot is so drunk he just flops around everywhere, no wonder my gunnery is so bad Today's Midge is looking pretty promising ( link in sig ) , mebbe someone else can run it to make sure it works on a different install. And yeah, Wanderfound, just say what you need run.Crashsolo, I don't see a FAR icon in there, you're using FAR right? Goomblah
The problem with this damn Skua is the pilot is so drunk he just flops around everywhere, no wonder my gunnery is so bad I managed to beat the Skua fairly consistently by making a plane that flies even more erratically; one of my first attempts at flying under FAR resulted in an aircraft that was just barely stable enough that it could stay up in the air, while constantly tumbling all over the place. For whatever reason, it actually beat the Skua quite often, generally by causing the Skua to stall and/or crash while trying to follow it XD

Faukker DR-3.It was named one in development, and then I decided to change it to make it more PG friendly. Somewhere the craft files got mixed up and the name didn't get changed in KSP. Van Disaster
Hmm, there's a pretty serious flaw in dynamic deflection for this... you don't have the control authority to get out of the mess your dynamic control let you get into. Adding AoA to controls isn't responsive enough a lot of the time if the control has a large deflection :S
Doke
The problem with this damn Skua is the pilot is so drunk he just flops around everywhere, no wonder my gunnery is so bad I could make the Skua more stable, but it seems to work better this way. Anyway, these new designs look promising. I'm sure the Skua's reign of terror will end soon enough.
