Magnavox
Check this out. No way is it competition legal, but it's amusing to watch in action.https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B13Bfbd-pPp0SVNJOWJ5RFBoNnc
Wanderfound
Please, be my guest and tell Wanderlfound this. The way I saw Wanderfound do it/Challenger loses? Defeated.Challenger wins? Best of 3 now.I will happily record it again if you want a rematch, however.- - - Updated - - -Anybody know where Wanderfound is?Wanderfound is seriously unhealthy in a permanent way and hasn't been well of late. Y'all seem to be going along fine without me, though. The way I was running the fights: if the first fight was won by the challenger or looked close enough that I was unsure who'd win, then I ran all three. If the challenger was dominated by the champion in the first fight to a degree that made the outcome appear obvious, I'd leave it at one fight, with the option to do two more if one of the pilots objected. Van Disaster
Check this out. No way is it competition legal, but it's amusing to watch in action.https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B13Bfbd-pPp0SVNJOWJ5RFBoNncHehe, yeah. Can you force that thing to be fixed? I tried setting all the values to 0 but it seems to be looking around still. Also are you using KJR, because that craft is falling apart a lot...Mosquito III updated to F2, killed the Skua *and* D-8 repeatedy. Ran out of fuel chasing K-14/K-35/whatever it is. SpaceplaneAddict
It's the K-35. YAY! I feel AWESOME knowing I over packed the K-35, and it still ran!
Van Disaster
Wanderfound is seriously unhealthy in a permanent way and hasn't been well of late.Sorry to hear that, in a similar situation myself. It's the K-35. YAY! I feel AWESOME knowing I over packed the K-35, and it still ran! Then rename it the craft file says D-35, still D-14 ingame. Either that or you need to reupload it.Sadly this lazer can't be used as a forward fixed weap it looks like
SpaceplaneAddict
? I just check my google drive, and it's written as K-35.Link:https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B588M8xKv0QKX0U0UmpTSHBNdmc
Magnavox
Hehe, yeah. Can you force that thing to be fixed? I tried setting all the values to 0 but it seems to be looking around still. Also are you using KJR, because that craft is falling apart a lot...Don't know what KJR is. For the competition I made a new install with only FAR, DD, BDA and their associated dependencies. Hyperedit, Kerbal Engineer and RCS Build Aid I added to help with construction and setting up the competitors. No other mods at all. The Laser by default is set up with the Yaw being rotation, and pitch for azimuth. If you could lock yaw to one specific spot and Max pitch to 90 and min pitch to 90 that would fix it forward. But the pitch settings determine how close to "vertical" and how much below "horizontal" the beam is aimed. I suppose you could mount a radial attachment point on the plane and have the laser stick straight out of the back, but I think that would look ugly and fly worse. Van Disaster
KJR - another mod of Ferram's that reinforces joints that shouldn't be as weak as they are. I made a clean install also - the only possible difference is my physics rate I guess. Only other mods I have are editor tools or a couple of graphics mods. The lazer is useless as a fixed weap, good fun flying around with a pair stuck on something though I'm disappointed it won't shoot missiles.I think the D-8 is actually shooting itself rather than falling apart... Dwerto
Here is the d-9: https://www.dropbox.com/s/f4uw6d6tv7fb7zv/d-9.craft?dl=0I believe it is better than the d-8 and less likely to spontaneously fall apart.
Van Disaster
Hoo that's evil. Illegal though - doubled up chaff/flare launchers & the reaction wheels are still on, but minor details.

SpaceplaneAddict
Alright, so I guess I'll be recording the D-9 then. Justnot now, it's almost midnight here, and I really cant get enough sleep.
Van Disaster
Hm, the D-9 is a fine opponent. I have something that will beat it quite a lot of the time, it just won't beat everything else as well with those settings. It's easy enough to beat if you fly around outside it's range until you run out of fuel though...I can see why the AI sucks defensively too - it takes the difference between heading vectors & makes a couple of steering setpoints; problem is if the difference is really small then the setpoints aren't going to make the craft on the defensive steer very much, so they end up flying almost straight & get shot to bits. The AI needs a "don't let these headings converge" bounds check if your target is behind.
Dwerto
I made a plane once that could beat almost anything. It was a very stable plane with a huge amount of fuel and no control surfaces. It just flew away until the other plane ran out of fuel.

It just flew away until the other plane ran out of fuel.Yeah, I had that thought - referee would probably throw it out as unsportsmanlike though Ok, go ahead and consider this an entry. I'm going to keep fiddling/upgrading it ( not least once I discover how to get planes to shoot straight ) but I have other things to do at the moment and this is too distracting whatever the D-10 ends up is probably going to trounce us all again anyway...Hawk Moth F2b Edited October 4, 2015 by Van Disaster

Van Disaster
Not the D-9's day! I did a quick rough stream ( I have low upstream & a bit busy elsewhere atm ) and it lost the first round there too...D-9 vs Arctic Skua, 3 rounds live

Van Disaster
And D-9 was the winner right?D-9 won 2/3 of my quick stream, but lost the first round - I thought that meant it lost the challenge? I don't remember atm.
SpaceplaneAddict
if it won 2/3, it won. we have a new champ
Van Disaster
if it won 2/3, it won. we have a new champYeah, I'll go with that. I've run that vs the Skua and a bunch of other things today, it's demonstrably better than the Skua at least. I'm not running my own craft in a sanctioned match though, that's a big conflict of interest Hodo: your plane has twice done a graceful 270deg loop off the runway with a fairly terminal climax - looks awesome, but maybe check the settings?
