I'm kinda ashamed of this, the result of a really bad day at work yesterday. I think I might have crossed some kind of a line.....

Jeb's Trebuchet - range 363.4m

physics is fun thou! I might put a vid up if this doesn't get too negative a response!

(Jeb has never been fired with it, just didn't have the heart)

I see the Kerbals have resorted to a more Medieval approach, I guess rockets were just too expensive.

my computer needs to be more powerful, this base has alot to be added to it yet

Nice!! How in the name of Jebs uncle did you get that thing up into space? Do you get a lot of lag from the solar panels? I had a ship with OTT solar panels and it was way laggy, took panels off and it was 30fps again.

My attempts to build a lander capable of rescuing crews from Mun actually managed to leave one of them stranded there :D So I used a better rescue vehicle to rescue the crappy rescue vehicle, went home, and posed folks for a photo op.

My most spectacular failure to date. The bottom stage went up. The top stage remained in place. Straight through like a dose of salts...

with great difficulty :D the secrets in the picture! I had to get rid of alot of solar panels as it was making my computer lag like crazy, but doing so gave me room to do this:

So today I was fine-tuning my new Munar rocket, cause my last two munar missions were both very tight on fuel... and then this happened:

0JQOs.jpg That's right, I ended up landing on Minmus, completely unforeseen.

But wait, there's more! ...they have a full tank to return.ewzcR.png

But wait, there's even MOAR!That also was my first precision landing, only 400m away from that cliff I was aiming for, looking over a frozen lake... Samgard Kerman went there by RCS during the first EVA.pCsYE.png

So yeah. I may have slightly overdone this fine-tuning thing... :)

I love EVAs but wanted a better, safer way to transfer crews while in orbit. This is what I came up with. A hard dock using lander legs and a 1.25m adapter. With the ladders extended the Kerbals can freely climb between ships. The 2 wing pieces were used to isolate a ladder to make a safe waiting place.

Rendezvous at 250km

Docking slow and steady

Kerbal awaits rescue

Funny you should mention that, cause I just managed to land my first rescue mission ever, just under 5km from the stranded Kerbstantin Tsiolkovsky lander and crew (none other than Jeb, Bill and Bob) :)
