Fairings destroyed the 4th set of my rover's wheels

More Boosters

Recommended Posts

So uhh, I launched a Moho rover with 8 wheels and the two wheels at the back are broken. I launched the entire thing in a fairing so I am assuming the fairing somehow destroyed those wheels when I opened it. I opened at like 45km altitude so could it have been the atmosphere? Wouldn't make sense and only one set was broken.

Should I feel bad about contemplating repairing the wheel via editing the vessel's text file? I mean I jumped through all those hoops and wheel pops up while in space...

If it entered the atmosphere rear wheels first, it absolutely could have been the atmosphere but I'm not sure if heat damages those kinds of parts like that (as opposed to them just blowing up). Give us a picture of the rover in it's fairings, otherwise we are just making wild guesses.

It makes no sense to ask if something is wrong with your craft and not post a picture.

Were they stock or mod fairings?

Concave colliders don't work anymore apparently, so a faring needs to be made with multiple convex colliders.

Do you play Sandbox? In career, only Engineers can change tires. I'm not sure on Science mode, which is a bit amusing considering I'm doing a Science Mode run right now :D
