So.. I hit the back button, and the forum went from English to Japanese. Well, only the thead titles though. I'm thoroughly confused. Any ideas?

Yeah I reported the very first one thinking it was well-intentioned and just needed to be moved. Obviously spam though.

I think it's Korean btw, not Japanese.

Spambot, unfortunately if they have never been previously flagged as such they aren't stopped by the filter, they need to be flagged at least once either here or on some other IPS forum or on stopforumspam.

They seem to all use ipv4, so if they reuse an ip they are banned, ipv6 is going to be "fun".

This was happening this morning too(UK time).  I'd not had my tea by then, so was rather confused! 
There were several pages of the same thing in GD.  Shortly after reporting one they disappeared (go mods!), but then a user with a diff name posted a bunch more.  

Maybe all users should have to answer a question like "name any moon from the Kerbol system" before they can post
(obv. I don't mean this seriously)

Why shouldn't that be seriously? That's as good a suggestion as I've heard. Not every time we have to post, but at the very least to register? Would certainly stop a whole bunch of generic IPS4-targetting spambots.

What about new people who aren't well versed in all things Kerbal?

Anyone joining has to pass a reCaptcha2 test, obviously spammers can fool it but they can't fool us, report these spammers and we'll blast them.

The reCaptcha's get fooled because they're standard across, well, just about everywhere. Invest time and effort into an algorithm to beat it and you get access to millions of online places to spam. reCaptcha's were doomed the moment Google decided to promote it as the de-facto standard of 'proving I am human'.

There is very little incentive to invest time and effort into figuring out and including something specific for just one out of a million potential targets.

I think asking for something that is accessible only five clicks into a new game (through R&D, four clicks through the tracking station), is not unfair to new people with a genuine reason to register to this forum, is it?

But hey, you could ask something less well versed: ask for the names of the buildings shown in the first screen they get after starting a game. Still too much? Zero clicks into the game: what is the xth option in the main menu. How many astronauts are floating upside down. No? How many stars are shown on the helmet of the Squad logo. What animal is part of that logo. Still no? Type the full name of the game this forum is for.

Pretty much any of those questions would serve, since if anyone were sufficiently invested in spamming the KSP forum as to download and start the game, none of them would stop them... but then neither will the reCaptcha's.

Anyway, I will continue to report spam when spotted, and I appreciate the mods' willingness to go all Kraken on the perpetrators.
