I have to admit they've evolved and changed from what I first intended, but mostly I think of both Kuzzter and Geschosskopf characters as a sort of Robin Hood types. Both would gladly steal from the rich, especially if there was some degree of fun and adventure involved.  But afterwards, they'd most likely give whatever they took to someone that needed it more.

Hmm, archival surveillance video from the recently canceled-by-pardon RICO case against Kuzz and Geo says otherwise....

Now I can't with any degree of certitude profess to know what Cap'n Kuzz does with his spoils when we go ashore, as I tend to have too much of a good time to remember the details.  I must confess, however, that I do contribute most of my plunder to the local economy in my pursuit of wenches and mead :D

Hmmmm.. maybe I wrote too much in that last chapter... no-one seems to have noticed my spiffy new skybox.

I did notice it.  And it looks superb.  I tried that one myself.  But long ago I put the stock skybox firmly into the mythology of my universe, to the point that it's blasphemous to speak of alternatives

OUCH!  This is my huge fear every time I muck around in the guts of my computer, learned the hard way during a sojourn to a desert environment.  But the only benefit of living in a tropical swamp is that it's almost always WAY too humid for any sort of ESD short of a thunderbolt, so it's easy to get complacent.  Still I take all the prescribed precautions with grounding cables and all.

Hope your computer gets well soon.  My condolences.

This still proves my point: the taverns and wenches just needed the gold more than you did!  :sticktongue:

I've wanted a better one for quite a while, but honestly I just learned how to use texture replacer to do it.

That's why I wrote this:

Yeah... I really want 8 more gigs of RAM in mine... but as simple as it is, I think I'll pay the shop up the road the few extra bucks to do it for me, just in case.

Well, as long as you don't get honest pirates confused with socialist Robin Hood wealth-redistributors :)

Better than the stock one with the Sacred Strut on the ecliptic holding the universe together?  You risk serous Kraken events by replacing that.  Ye hae been warned! :)

But, as they're in a tropical swamp, they might also be complacent and not use the grounding cable :)

Thanks! Sadly, i didn't and still don't have access to anything that will properly ground me, so I tried and failed to go the "touch your case" route. And what sucks is that living in mid canada (near the  60th parallel), in the town I'm in the humidity doesn't even exist (driest air i have ever breathed, i usually have nosebleeds on a regular basis in the winter). :( And even then static pops up out of nowhere (no carpets or socks needed)

Jim, you're making the right choice there.. but if the specific RAM you're buying has heat spreaders covering the majority of it excluding pins, then I'm pretty sure you won't shock it. But don't take my advice, I've already had a *shocking* experience :D

Note to self: Buy reference design cards or cards with backplates next time....

Yeah, it was thus when I lived out in the western end of Texas.  Every step I took caused a spark somewhere between my jeans and my legs, even when trudging across the dry sand in cowboy boots.  But OTOH, that was often the necessary spur to keep walking to the next oasis.  Not so much because I was thirsty but because there was a smidge of humidity there :)

I really need to double the RAM in my machine...problem is I still don't know if the max amount of RAM allowed in here is 4GB (what I have now) or 8GB...

What kind of machine do you have?  Is there a label or something on the back that says what the max RAM capability is?

I really liked the Travelling circus reference. Sanny was too much of a New Age kerb.

Thanks.... but I have to warn you.  @Geschosskopf and I have talked a lot privately about Sanny's personality... Kerbalality???

Whatever the case, I will be trying my best to keep her exactly as she was in the Travelling Circus...

And yes, she has a role to play in all this, and will be back.

Hey everyone, I really need some input, please.
Yesterday I was playing with another game I have seeing if I could use it to get some historical backstory screenshots for Emiko.

But I'm torn really bad whether to use the screenshots or not.
On the one hand, it has one monster ship that is almost too irresistible not to use...
On the other hand, it's not KSP... and this bothers me.

So this is a sample screenshot... I'm pretty sure it won't need any explaining.  Let me know what you think... should I or shouldn't I?

Spoiler

.... and for thousands of centuries they roamed the galaxy in ships so utterly fantastic it staggers the imagination....

Oh, if you quote this, please snip out the screenshot first!!!   Thanks!

Personaly, i dont think you should, the ship does not really look "Kerbal" If you are talking about a story in another dimension, sure, but if it is in kerbin dimension you should not. What i mean is if you are talking about alien creatures with alien ships in an alien solar system, sure, but not if it takes place around Kerbol.

By the way what game is that?

Is this why you've been playing so much "Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion"? :sticktongue:

Anyway, I would be fine with screenshots from another game if it had a similar or easily blendable aesthetic, but that screenshot has the chance of being slightly jarring compared to the shots taken from KSP.

I'm cool with it.  I assume this is for retrospective visions of the ancient past, not something you'd have to build for the present.

Yes, exactly

That's the problem I'm grappling with.... it's almost too much compared to KSP, even if it is from "eons long past..."

Replicate it in KSP?

I may, or something like it, down the road.  That is a definite possibility.

The only reason I even considered using Sins is that one ship, called a Vasari Rebel Titan, looks so much like some monster Kraken ship... well... that's it in a nutshell.  It looks so much like how I would envision an ancient kraken warship.  And I already have some intense screenshots of it in action.

But again... they're pretty intense... which brings me back to square one.
I don't need them to make the story work... they're just eye-candy... abeit somewhat violent eye-candy.

I need to think about this some more.

Well, I thought about it all afternoon when I was out and about taking care of reality, and I'm not going to use that other game (Sins of a Solar Empire) for screenshots.  It's just not KSP, or Emiko Station for that matter.  Emiko Station is more playful weird...

So I worked on KSP screenshots all evening, and here's a little teaser for y'all from the next chapter....

@Just Jim You should try the mod RealPlume Stock. It makes the engine plumes look so much better and I think it would make your story even better :)

"Better" is subjective.  I think nice, neat, pointy plumes look a lot better than chaotic, lumpy plumes.  Besides, I grew up watching on the Apollos on TV.  For most of the trip, they had animations showing what was going on (such as the transfer burns, extracting the LEM from the transfer stage, etc.), and they always had pointy plumes in space.  If that was good enough for NASA, then it's good enough for me :)

I'll look at it later, but honestly, the only new mods I'm really interested in right this minute are to add some very specific parts... which I now think I've found.
I don't want to give it all away yet, but I'll be adding some very non-stock stuff into the mix soon.

Wooooo this is going to be a good chapter I can tell...it is always worth the wait with Jim at the helm.  :)

I need to get back into my KSP and set up some screenshots for the latest chapter I am writing too...Gyazo helps a LOT with that.  With Etherium, all my screenshots are Gyazo shots.
