Did you?  Or was it the Kerbals conspiring against you? :)

It's them... it's them I tell ya!  hehehe  :D

BTW, you really need to do a "making of" post at the conclusion of some significant story arc.  I'd like to steal some of your tricks.

Do you mean writing?  Or blowing up stuff and things like that for screenshots?

Well, I could always use help with writing but I was thinking of the special effects.  For instance, getting the magic boulders all over the place, building the scaffolding on the pyramids, etc.  I can't figure out how to do similar things.

I was hoping you would say special effects...

I've already written a bunch of stuff about writing on the writers thread, and honestly, I don't know what else I could add to it.
But special effects, sure, that'll be much more fun.

Moving and placing the boulders and scaffolding is done with HyperEdit, and is definitely cheating in the traditional sense.  But it's the fastest and easiest way if you're just going for screenshots.  There is a ship lander feature that lets you place anything pretty much anywhere, if you have the coordinates.

Once I get this next chapter finished I'll throw together a quick video showing exactly how it's done.

That would be nice.  I can't make HE do anything on the surface.

No problem.  I owe ya for helping me out with OPM

And speaking of mods, I'm at it again.  I've been working on different ideas for a large room of some sorts, like a conference room, or a ship's bridge.... something that would house a bunch of Kerbals, but more open than the Mk3 passenger section, and not just copying @Kuzzter's cool ship bridges.
But so far I'm not liking what I came up with.

So last night I looked at, and then downloaded, Planetary Base Systems.  And while it's not exactly what I was looking for, I've already got some really cool ideas how to use it.  I'm also taking a really hard look at KAS and KIS.

PBS has some nice crew spaces; Intrepid's lab, habs and some of the parts for life support supplies come from there. And really, I wouldn't worry about "copying" my bridge designs, we're all using the same parts and there are only so many ways to lay out panels and chairs :)

You might have a look at the Mk IV Spaceplane.  It's by Neartea, the same as makes the Near Future stuff.  The cargo bays of those planes are truly cavernous, which should serve as the main room for a set.  All you need is furniture :)

I thought I recognized a couple IVA views, and apparently we had the same thought... why limit this to just building a colony base?

I know... let me re-phrase it.  To me, what I made so far looked a little too much like yours and not what's in my head.  I'm having a sort of writers block in reverse I guess.  I know what I want, but I'm not getting there.

Wow... that is massive.  One of those might work.

So I got up early and did a ton of screenshots before the storms hit this afternoon.  :D

But I have a confession.  To save time I'm using a stock airplane in the next chapter.  It isn't important to the story like the Diamondback, and I can't see wasting 2 more days designing a new plane just to take one short flight and never use it again.

Anyway, the sky's getting dark... right on time... so I'm not sure how much more I'll get done today.  But again, I got most of what I needed finished this morning.  I just need to sort thru all of these and see if I missed anything.

Well, I was hoping to have a new chapter done today, but apparently Imgur has other ideas, and isn't letting me upload the screenshots.  I can get as far as the "I'm not a robot" screen, then it freezes up on me.  IDK what's wrong, but I've seen more than a few members on here complaining about the new upgrade, and now I totally get it!

I am so very sorry... I'm going to go make some supper, then try uploading them again.

Well, I've gone from slightly annoyed to full blown mad!  Imgur is not letting me upload anything, the "reCaptcha" thing is broken, and I don't know what to do.  I didn't sign up for the stupid Imgur beta or whatever it is, but somehow I'm stuck with it.

I just want to write a chapter, not have to argue to a robot that I'm not a robot!

Sorry.... I worked on this next chapter really hard, and I'm frustrated I can't post it!

Very much understandable, i feel you. Captcha sucks!

Captcha has been replaced by a Voight-Kampff test. You just don't realize you're a Nexus-6 yet.

i feel so sad when people make references and many people laugh. Do you know any good movies that are constantly referenced here?

This was from Blade Runner, which isn't referenced enough IMO

Yes, it was a good movie with a lot of lines. Almost as easy to pick one-liners out of as Twister is... I would dare say there are several movies I often quote from, such as Blade Runner, Twister, Spaceballs, Three Amigos, Star Trek VI, Robin Hood: Men in Tights, and the original Ghostbusters...just for a few.

I use this mod a lot. It makes making ship superstructure super easy and it is great to get screen shots of crew quarters...

BTW, nice reference... one of my top-5 movies!

One of the highlights of my tech support career was fixing the digital editing PC Hampton Fancher was using at my old job, putting together his film The Minus Man in 1999. It was amazing to get to talk to him for a few minutes about BladeRunner. He signed my DVD case.

He's currently working on this.

I use Flickr.  Imgur has always and will always suck.

OK, I have about a third of these uploaded.  So for now here's a screenshot teaser until I get the rest done.

Oh MULCH!    (bites tongue)  Only 1 of them is casting a shadow...

If I can't get Imgur to work this morning I'm starting a Flickr account

Who is the Kerb in the old suits? Is the one "behind" the monolith an alternate universe version? Only time (or @Just Jim) will tell...

I will answer both in the next chapter... which will be posted by the end of the day!
