Why can't I Transmit Science  from an MPL using an Action Group?

Depends what level of "why" you mean.

Q:  Why can't I transmit science with an action group?
A:  Because the science lab only provides action groups for stopping & starting research.

Q:  Why doesn't the science lab provide an action group for transmitting?
A:  Because the author of the part designed it that way.

Q:  Why didn't the author add an action group for that?
A:  I dunno, best to ask the author.    @RoverDude, any comment?

 

On the other hand, if this is really a feature request rather than a question, i.e. "please add an action group for transmitting science", then this is more of a topic for the suggestions forum rather than here.

It's also worth noting that tinkering with action groups is the kind of thing that's easy to do with a mod, so I wouldn't be at all surprised if there's already a mod that does what you want.  This one might be a good place to start?  Or this one?  (don't know if it does specifically what you want to do, I just googled it, you can look through them)
