It's obviously fake, everyone knows that humans hunted the Martian Gorilla to extinction in the 1600's because it's skin and fur provided protection for travelers during the long Martian winters. Martian Indians would hunt them sustainably, following their migration patterns, but since settlers from Europa came the natives were segregated and forced to convert to Europan customs. The whole Martian ecosystem has been messed up since then, and only in the last century have efforts been made to improve the situation, but with the number of invasive species from Venus and Europa, the future seems rather bleak for the Martian ecosystem.
