Potatoroid in VAB easter egg/bug

Someone in @tylerraiz's stream said that you could find the potatoroid in the VAB by going into advanced mode, search by profile, surface attach, and then exit the VAB and re-enter, going back into surface attach. The Potatoroid shows up in there! And I have proof! The video is from KSP Jebediah:

Yup I have seen this by chance on two separate occasions. There is even a kerbal part too!

 As far as I know you cannot place them or interact with them in any way though..

It was in the part list! I could not select it or place it though..

My game once glitched and I could place Kerbals and Flag parts. The Kerbals, when placed, fly around with their lights on. The Flags just loop the flag unfolding animation. This happened after I reverted flight once, and when I tried to launch a craft made of Kerbs and Flags, the game crashed.

I think it is the same part that puts quite a bit of error lines in my KSP.log

[ERR 08:52:16.114] The hull has more than 255 polygons. This is invalid.

I suggested to the streamer I was watching to put it into Low Earth Orbit since he was playing RSS/RO.

I think it's possible to get roids in the VAB/SPH by finding the cfg and editing it's category, but that's wholly different from this.

Yes it is, I've done it before. They are kinda buggy, though.

It's not difficult to edit the potatoroid CFG under gamedata>squad>parts>misc>potatoroid and change Unresearchable to some category like Utility. I'm not good with nodes, so it's kinda tricky to make it anything than surface attach.
