I hope it has 3+ years worth of life support too, mine had 3.5 years life support and it only had 6 days left when it was recovered. They had like 3000 science too.

I can't do career mode. I have to use sandbox

After Valentina got stuck on Ike I used the remaining fuel to pilot her down to Duna's surface and launched a probe to go pick her up, the mission was successful and Valentina was returned safely to Kerbin.

If only they could do that with Mark Watney

-Jeb was stuck in orbit

-tried to rendezvous in orbit

-ran out of fuel with the closest approach at ~30km

-EVA'd Jeb to rescue ship from 30km

-RCS'd the rescue ship into suborbital trajectory

-safely landed everybody

Never had I been so tense in KSP before. Felt so proud of myself afterwards.

Two moments that really stand out are the launch of this space station segment: LHi9e1T.png

Fun extra about the space station launch, was that I was playing with a 'clean space' policy... so when Jeb got the station setup, he detached the remaining rocket stage, de-orbited it, got out, and jet-packed back to the station :P

And vertically docking this freighter on this mining outpost: nlgAQp4.png

After doing that, docking in orbit has never seemed like a challenge.

Oh yeah, how could I forget? There was that one time I actually freaked Jeb out:

My first SSTO space plane. I had been trying so hard for so long to get an SSTO to work that when it finally did, I woke up the neighbors. Curiously, when they asked what the ruckus was all about and I told them I'd gotten an SSTO to work, they asked me if I'd used R.A.P.I.E.R. engines.......small world!

Mine was landing on the moon in my .18 demo version. I had a horribly over designed rocket- LF/O engines on SRBs, enough stages to make @Whackjob blink (or at least notice it), a low framerate, and no maneuver nodes. I managed to crash the thing into the surface, but the capsule survived, and "Any landing you can walk away from...". I was so happy. Then I EVA'd Jeb, and he flew, crashed into the surface, and died in a puff of smoke. That was when I decided to purchase the full game.

Guess I just pulled another rabbit out of a hat today. I had put a self-contained rocket into orbit, not much good for anything other than a little visit to space and back.  I wanted to do something with it, as I was saving the Mun for a visit by the interplanetary ship I was getting ready to send, so I figured why not visit the space station(Tyraslee)?  Only issue is the ship(Chimera) wasn't equipped with a docking port.  Guess I would have to do a little EVA hop.  Being without RCS as well, I was a bit nervous about getting too close, so I had matched velocities as well as I could from a bit less than a kilometer.  Pulled off the EVA rather well.  But then I looked at the map and saw my interplanetary ship(Pinafore) I had parked in orbit (waiting for fuel and workpod) was not far off, and Bill was looking rather bored on the station. So I sent him back over to the Chimera and changed orbits to bring it close to the Pinafore.  I had a bit of a concern as the Chimera was going to have to be abandoned, as for some reason I neglected to put an AI core on it.  This was where things got a bit more interesting as I opted to hop out while 5km away from the Pinafore.  I got some major flashbacks of the movie Gravity making that maneuver, constantly checking the monopropellant.  I did neglect to forget the Chimera's current velocity relative to the Pinafore heading out, and zipped by.  Seeing nothing but Kerbin beyond put my heart in my throat.  However, the EVA packs do carry a decent enough punch, and I was able to slow down and return without even hitting 50% capacity.

I recommend to anyone to take on the challenge of a long-distance orbital EVA transfer.  It is a rush to experience, and in a way a bigger deal than performing a docking maneuver.

I'd have to say that time I landed my Minmus lander on its transfer stage. The engines in the lander didn't work because of a design flaw, so other than just going home, my only choice was to leave the transfer stage in place and land on it. Did it on the first try. :)

Return trip from Eve. However, I had to turn re-entry heat off as I didn't realise the changes to heating in 1.0 so I used a command chair :(

Still, it was very hard.

Another one is that I saw a hybrid ion-engine mod, thought "oh ya I can do a Duna flyby with this and return"

Turns out I underestimated, and got Jeb stranded in Solar Orbit.... with 1 year of life support.

So I did my first Solar docking :D
