drtedastro
Nice looking parts. Well done. Looking forward to any and all additions. Cheers.
Z3R0_0NL1N3
I love this! That new truss part is pretty awesome-looking. I hope to see the rest of it done too. (It may be out there, but what about the solar panels?) Anyway, keep in mind that I have not used this yet (computer is not working), I'll give some of my thoughts. First of all I've been waiting this for forever since the FusTek parts have been on hiatus, and honestly I am really enjoying this art style a lot more. It's very stockalike and fits great with Tantares. I do think the hatches should be redone to be something more unique to this part set. One thing I personally really did like about FusTek was its hatches; and you might take some inspiration from the real ISS on those--but right now they look fine. I can't wait to see what those other berthing ports you're talking about are also! Anyway, if I could make some suggestions for things I would most like to see (besides more trusses!) is a PMA part that adapts to Tantares and normal mapping to make the panels have some texture to them. Furthermore, make sure to include some structural docking ports for the trusses. By that I mean I need some way to connect them in space so I can launch them up as separate pieces. And does anyone know if these fit in the KSO? Edited March 30, 2016 by Z3R0_0NL1N3
Gryphorim
Special Request: as this is a "stockalike ISS and other stations" pack, could you make a double-axis solar panel that looks like 2 gigantors on a structural fuselage? The closest I have been able to aproximate is using an IR rotatron and tracking the sun manually. The KOSMOS pack has a monstrously big panel that does this, but it's not really stockalike in style. As for normal mapping, I couldn't manage to make it work and look nice, but I'll keep working on it. 19 hours ago, Gryphorim said: Special Request: as this is a "stockalike ISS and other stations" pack, could you make a double-axis solar panel that looks like 2 gigantors on a structural fuselage? Definitely a planned part! Updated for 1.1, plus including configs for CLS and the Z1 Truss part.

benjee10
0.1.2 update includes PMA and new 0.937m docking port, in case people don't want to use Tantares (for some reason) for docking ports of that size.

benjee10
Testing out an ISS mockup on the runway feat. new cupola part. Looking at reference I think it should be 1.25m diameter but that's impractical in KSP since you can't physically fit a kerbal in there, so I've scaled it up to approx 1.6m. It's completely non-standard but 1.875m looks too big and it's a bit of a niche part anyway. The smoothness of 1.1 makes me want to jump for joy - nearly 200 parts on the pad and the clock never once went yellow. I was lagging on any craft above 100 parts before. EDIT: Truss system WIP: Planning on making a 'covered' variant of the longer truss segment which will have KIS storage etc. built into it. Currently the 'hollow' version you can fill with your own stuff, though angle snap likes to play up. RocketSquid
This is glorious. Will make a good replacement for FusTek, which I will probably drop while I update my mods to 1.1. Plus that Cygnus trunk will be super useful for my orbital service vehicle. EDIT: Doesn't having crew capacity but not hatches make parts do bizarre things? -ctn-
Looks awesome, can't wait to give it a to go. Also can't wait for 1.1 to be fully released so I can install it and play it.
komodo
Looking good! There is a very flickering amount of 1.5 m parts floating around... It's somewhat of a niches niche of a size, but it does exist. (What would I even stick a 1.6 m part on to launch it?... Haha) The trusses are quite shiny as well. Looking forward to this to go with 1.1! TimothyC
I really like this mod, and I've started to layout my 1989-91 Freedom analog for 1.1. I do have a couple of questions. First, does the Copula have a node on the glass panel that can be used to have either a decoupler or a docking port for placement? Second, is there any shot at a lab-sized habitation module as was planned for the station up until STS-107?

Just means you have to transfer crew to an actual airlock to get them out (which is how I like it ) 11 hours ago, komodo said: Looking good! Happy to take on board criticism though if everyone would rather it be 1.5m! 41 minutes ago, TimothyC said: I really like this mod, and I've started to layout my 1989-91 Freedom analog for 1.1. Cupola does indeed have an attachment node on the glass panel (although the exact position of the node may change since I'm considering adding window covers to it which open like the real thing) Large hab is indeed planned, I'm gonna do some different modules with texture variants so the whole thing doesn't look too monotonous. Probably will have a specialised JEM/Kibo as well. New release! Four new truss parts plus Cupola. Currently you'll have to use standard docking ports to join the trusses together but I do plan on adding specialised docking ports for the truss system. benjee10
Turns out the Kerbal model I was using for size estimates was scaled wrong! Kerbals fit snugly inside a 1.25m Cupola: Hopefully I can have basic IVAs for all parts by next update, just so using cross-section view doesn't look ugly as sin with all the black boxes from the placeholder IVA. Yup, part has been rescaled to 1.25m and will be that way next update. Also coming next update, very basic IVAs for all crewed module: It's just the basics so that until I get round to doing them properly you aren't stuck with horrible black boxes everywhere when in overlay view. Parts for MPLM and Columbus lab will come soon too.

FlyMeToTheMinmus
Beautiful parts! Would it be possible to get a an adapter part (2.5 to 1.25), to add onto the ends of your pressurised modules? It just looks a bit wrong for me to have flat ends.

Maybe once freeIVA gets updated to 1.1, don't want to give myself too much work at the moment especially since the cutaway mode doesn't show interiors on parts without crew capacity even if they have them. 15 hours ago, FlyMeToTheMinmus said: Beautiful parts! Size will probably balloon pretty quickly when I start working on IVAs properly though! Update 0.1.4 is live! -Rescaled Cupola part to 1.25m -Added 2.5m->1.25m structural adapters -Added JEM laboratory -Added Columbus laboratory -Added Long Habitat module (based on proposed ISS module) -Added MPLM part -Added unique science experiments to each lab part (yet to be balanced) -Added placeholder IVAs to all crewed parts so that cutaway view works correctly Also in the USI LS config have given the Columbus Lab functionality as a greenhouse. No balance done on this, no idea if it even actually works but hopefully I can get it functioning nicely in future. Highlights: MPLM/PMM. Proper Kibo part. Big habitat module. Enjoy! Warezcrawler
Very nice work. I love building space stations, and with KSP 1.1, they might not even bring performance to a crawler.... Look forward to building my next station using these parts
