Orion-ish Craft

Recommended Posts

This CSM has about 1 km/s of  Δv (1174, actually). I'm working on an SLS booster to go with it and take a Kerbal crew...somewhere? Hope you like it.

Another Happy Landing. Sorry Image is a *bit* grainy.

Nice craft!

From looking at it I feel it should have more dV, but then I remembered the exaggregated mass of that pod. Somehow I feel Squad could make that one a bit lighter, but thats just me. In this circumsances its perfectly legitimate to clip another tank into your tank to still retain the look and give it a bit more "realistic" dV  ;)

I think that dv is ok man, the real Orion, I am told will have around 1,855 m/s dv. That is why it has a booster stage for the longer range missions.

You might be right, mate, and its probably enough for the flybys you proposed too. Nevermind my daydreaming then :) sorry for the misinformation

Not at all man, my source could be wrong too.. And looking at it again, it would be short by around 700m/s so maybe could do with a little more.

Looks nice!  I see you recreated the backup thruster shrouds with solar panels, looks good!

This pdf shows ~1,340 m/s.

I've seen at least four different values for it's DV. Between 1,000-2,000m/s is perfect for a KSP replica.

^ now we're talking! I am guessing here, but that should get you pretty close to Duna and maybe back :o
