Re-enable Staging In-flight

Recommended Posts

Just a small thing I noticed, you can disable staging on many parts in the VAB, but if you have, later in flight you can't re-enable staging. Sometimes it would be nice to be able to temporarily disable staging for safety reasons (so as not to accidentally blow decouplers), but later have the option to manually re-engage them.

Thats all :)

Mod (Alt/RShift)) + L activates and deactivates stage lock.

Hmm.. for everything? Like a specific example would be using a Mun lander that had legs on radial decouplers. It would be nice to be able to disable staging for the decouplers in the VAB so you didn't accidentally blow your legs off before landing, and then re-engage their staging so they could be blown simultaneously when taking off from the Mun.

Yeah no, it's not reenabling the staging you disabled in the VAB. But in most cases that single stage you are talking about would be part of a more complex arrangement of stages and you wouldn't want to stage anything behind it either. That's why I'm content with the existing option to temporarily disable any staging at all.

@Pthigrivi create a new stage 0. Move all un-wanted staging events into that stage. You wont blow you landing legs before your parachute at least. Yes it shouldn't be a problem in the first place, but some bugs and non-feature we will have to work with for a while longer:)

^Well yes this is what I usually do. It's certainly not a huge deal, but if we're given the option to disable staging (presumably for this reason) it would make sense that we could reenable it later.
