[Help me] Minimum Altitude to orbit around the Mun

Recommended Posts

Sometimes craft left in very low orbits up and vanish while you are personally operating a different ship, even if the orbit is higher than the highest point on the world. I haven't seen this happen for a few versions now; perhaps it's been fixed. But I never leave anything I care about parked below 10,000m anymore.

I have a scan sat i dont need at 6km ecuatorial , its been there for days and if you want to go under 6km there is ridge from one of the big craters that you have to bypass somehow. Pretty sure it reaches over 5km

I can confirm that. Version 0.22 still having those 2.5km vanish issues. (Non-atmospheric). Happened to me just yesterday, Minmus Master EVA Challenge mission.

Agree. I'll always set it to 15km due to my lander are "slow" to slow-down. Made room for some error.

I've found 8km seems to be a good distance. It's high enough to miss mountains but low enough to get a good view of surface features and minimize gravity gains while landing.
