ASA's History. (Kerbal Styled Story Telling!)

Recommended Posts

The Ameschlandisch Space Agency's history is a long story. And we are keeping it long lol. So, Ameschland is a fictional country, located in Baffin island. Ameschland is great friends with Canada and the Islamitic world, but hates the USA, even though thats where it all started. But we are covering the history of the ASA here (in Kerbal style!) not the actual country. So this is the start of the story:

Main Characters:

- Alexander Kerman (Main founder of the ASA) (Born in Germany, grown up in Mother Russia) (Birth date, 2016)

- John Kerman (Brother of Alexendar, Co-founder of the ASA) (Born in Germany, grown up in the US) (Birth date, 2020)

- Jebediah and Valentina Kerman (Twins, Children of Alex. K) (Born and grown up in Russia, moved to Ameschland at Age 12) (Birth date, 2035)

- Bill and Bob Kerman (Twins, Children of John. K) (Born and grown up in the US, moved to Ameschl... yeah basicly the same as above lol)

- Marie Le Grand Kerman (Wife of John) (Born and grown up in France) (Birth date, 2024)

- Zara Bruin (Youngest Astronaute (The Ameschlanders call the Ruymtonaught(e)s)) (Born and grown up in The Netherlands) (Birth date, 2041)

Chapter One: A Special Hobby.

Alexander was doing his hobby: building and flying small rockets. Not many people did that at the time. His 2 twins really liked the fact that he built rockets. Val once said to him: Later when im a big girl, i want to go on one of your rockets to the moon! (In Russian) Alexander feels like he wants to make their dreams come true, so he did that. He had no official rockets back then. But then he found out about the land called Ameschland, where he could launch and make bigger rockets because they would land in the middle of Greenland and not in Moskow). But before that, Jeb and Valentina needed to play at their favourite tree they call The Papa Bear Tree) They love that thing, even though Valentina fell of the highest point of the tree 23 times. But Alexander is kind of happy that his kids are true badasses. Alexander heard that his brother who was seperated from him at birth is moving there too, with the whole family. But the wife of Alexander is staying in Russia, she works at a clothing store, and everybody loves her there, so they have to divorce. So, back to the rockets, Alexander plans on building a big rocket, that is 2 meters high (his avarege height is 10 centimeters). But he cant do that alone, thats why John and Marie want to work with him in the Space Program. But the moving has been delayed, because Valentina fell off that stupid tree again. Facepalm.

Fun Facts!

Alexander is an analog of Sergei Korolev and John an analog of Wernher von Braun! Jeb, Val, Bill, and Bob are not Kerbals in this story, its just a coincidence! Or maybe Aliens?

The Alexander 1 is the first official rocket Alexander has made, it was a small rocket, but still big for his avarage size. It was 2.2 meters tall. It carried no science expiriments yet, because it was a test. Val and Jeb were amazed. Daddy now builds big rockets! she said. Jeb said: I want to ride that thing like a horse! The Alexander one went into space, and landed somewhere in Greenland, It has a super efficient engine, but too small for future missions. Alexander wants to build something that is the size of a V-2, to carry more science expiriments.

But later that week, Alexander built his second rocket, but now with science experiments, its called the Alexander 1-S. And it carried experiments Bob Kerman made for a school project. The Antenna was capable of sending the info from space back to his satellite dish. He now proved to himself that space is real, and not a secret U.S goverment cover-up. This one landed in Greenland too. But now they have Greenpeace on their back, Greenpeace mailed them and said that they should stop doing this because its ruining the habitat of some animals. But then PETA came and was really butthurt. But they did not know that the small rocket burned in the atmosphere anyways, and the chance of debris hitting something alive in the middle of nowhere was 0.000001% or something.

Alexander launched the Alexander 2-C a 7 meter tall rocket, they had to buy a small airplane hangar to build this thing, it was so big, that they needed to tilt it up at the launch site, so the rocket wont fall while rolling out. Alot of people thought it was an illegal missile of some sort. So they called the police. Alexander quickly explained what it was, and he could pass on with their mission. Alexander had to back up really far away, because this one has a 2x higher TWR than the Alexander 1. The Alexander 2-C had areodynamic satellite dishes, or ''ears''. They also worked as great areobrakes so they could recover an re-use the experiments. It went no further than the upper atmosphere. And it landed not far away from their home, somewhere in a mountian range.

John has designed and buildt a decoupler that could be used for a future mission, Alexander wants to used it for the Alexander 3. A 2 staged rocket. Alexander plans on making the Alexander 4 carry a tiny cubesat into orbit. But Marie thinks this is going too far, so she decided to have a break for a while. This is bad because Marie is the best at building their rockets.

A message from the President

Alexander got a mail today. He thought it was another complaint from Greenpeace. But no! It was from the miss president, Lieke Naaktgeboren! This means she wants his Space Program! But there is more.

Hello Alexander, Im Lieke Naaktgeboren and we need want your Space Program to be an official part of our goverment. But you need to send at least one satellite in to an Low Orbit before 2050, in order to confirm your space program is growing fast enough. And if you completed that task, we want you to put a spy satellite into orbit to spy on Area 51. If you complete the finsl task, you can officially colonize the planets and moons beyond Earth. Thank you, Lieke .N

Alexander was shocked when he realized the final task could lead to World War 3. He did not want to do that. But he wanted to colonize space. So he had 3 choices:

- Do the dangerous task.

- Talk with the President

- Fake the task instead of doing it.

Alexander thought about it for a while. John came and said: "a tiny cubesat is pretty much undetectable, between all that space debris, its not that hard! Do it! Try it!" (By m83 lol just kidding) Alexander accepted rhe task. So he got back to designing an orbital rocket.

Future plans and projects.

-Alexander 3, a multi staged rocket.

*Humpty Dumpty 1, an egg on inside a return capsule to research the safety capabilities needed for manned space flight

-Alexander 4, orbital rocket, capable of sending at least 0.2 tons into orbit.

*Bob 1, first satellite into orbit.

*Roswell 1 first spy satellite.

Quick question, why is this set in our universe (minus the other country.) When this isn't a RSS mission report?

It is set in the real universe, but RSS requires you to build ridiculously big rockets just to get into orbit. And RO ruins the costumization. I just want to keep things stock.

Roswell 1 Mission plan...

The Roswell 1 spy satellite is probably the most important and dangerous mission ever done in humanity. It needs a camouflage against radars, a very sharp camera, underground detection instruments, and a believable cover up.

THE CAMOUFLAGE.

The Roswell 1 will have a lead shell, that will explode around the satellite, so it will be hard to locate the actual satellite via radar. The communication devices will only be active near Ameschland, to avoid any radio station from retrieving the secret data.

THE INSTRUMENTS.

It will have a a camera with a telescopic lens. A satellite dish for detecting radio signals from the target. And their underground detection thingy that Bob made.

THE COVER UP.

We will tell the media that the new satellite called the Bill 1 exploded while in space because of overheating. It was supposed to take pictures of the polar ice caps, and other targets (totally not Area 51!).

This is more complicated than i thought it would be!

A bigger team.

Alexander, Marie, and John cant build a bigger and more advanced rocket than the Alexander 2, because of the team is simply too small. So they hired 4 extra experienced car builders, when the ASA team asked them they where like: Building space rockets? Hell yeah lets go back to space yall! Since humanity forgot space when NASA corrupted in 2017 (it wont happend for reals dont worry peeps). So, after a month long break they had to start thinking of concepts of new rockets, satellites and manned missions. Valentina and Bill are working on a manned Moon mission, those kids love thinking. They also built a bunch of mockups for the lander, Alexander loves it. While the break the ASA team where discussing about the future plans and rocket desings for a bit, Marie said to the team: With our new builders and rocket plans we could go to orbit already! So why do we need an suborbital one? The team agreed, we are not building the original Alexander anymore, we are going into orbit straight away. And we are also skipping the Humpty Dumpty mission, that is just silly.

Chapter 2: Not just a hobby.

Shortly after Alexander, Marie and John made the Space Program have a bigger team, they started building their rockets, they built 2 Alexander 3's at the same time, one for the Bob 1 and the other one for the Roswell 1 (Aka the Bob 2). They both launched succesfully in one day, Marie decided to bake a cake for their succes, while Alexander and John where writing a letter to the president. They where all happy, even the kids.

YHQeqrD.png

(There is no picture of the Roswell 1, thats top secret data!)

Marie also did some caclucations, she proved that the original Alexander 3 spacecraft could go to the Moon. She was very happy when she knew this but she did not tell anybody, not even Alexander. Later that week, Miss President, Lieke Naaktgeboren replied to their mail:

Hello again! It is Lieke Naaktgeboren again! Impressive job people from the ASA! I cant wait to see the Ameschlanders walk on the Moon! But when? Probably tommorow with your energetic work! Haha! May god bless you all! Now i will fund you 10,000 euros a month! Dont spend that money on blue wine though! Good luck, much love from Lieke Naaktgeboren.

The team was very happy that they could now offically colonize space, and they had enough money to do so. They plan on sending a human into space soon, but who? The main candidates are:

-Jebediah Kerman (even though he is 13)

-Valentina Kerman (she is his twin, so yeah)

-Marie Le Grand Kerman (she is not that badass though)

They will see, soon. soon.

HD pictures from space.

It is January 2048, people have never been to space for 30 years now. With the current High-Defenition cameras used in movies, we can see our planet like never before, the Bob 3 flew into space to do exactly that. It took one picture of Earth, just one. The picture was so sharp that you could see the Empire State Building in New York. That is how powerfull cameras are in 2048. The picture got featured in newspapers around the world, but not in its true size. This was the moment that the world knew humans are going to colonize space in their lifetimes.

Making craters on the Moon

Alexander and his team are ready to get to the Moon, they just need to know more about its surface. The Maan 1 is an impactor that instead of just spreading dust for people to research it, also had super a slo-mo camera on there, wich was also HD, the max FPS while still having a good quality was 530,000 FPS with 1080p. So they could research the Lunar surface up close and collect dust. The Maan 2 will be a unmanned lander, and it could maybe send surface samples back to Earth, but we will see.

A new launcher

The ASA's new launcher, called the Anne 1 is made to send manned spacecraft into orbit, the first test flight was succesfull, even though it flipped quite bit. It can carry alot more payload than the Alexander 3/4. The first test also had a capsule on it, so they can check if that thing is safe. It was unmanned, dont worry.

Chapter 3: From hobby to a new Golden Age

It is July 2048, the ASA team provided alot of attention from around the world. Not long ago the team only had 5 rocket builders and 2 scientists. But now, they have 20 scientist and 56 builders. The team is growing fast. They get funded alot more now, not only by the goverment of Ameschland, but also by the Canadian goverment an the Arabic Union. But before the team start growing they built one more spacecraft: The Maan 1.

The Maan 1 was the first ever soft Moon landing in nearly 30 years. It tooks some incredible pictures. I remember when i dreamed to go to the Moon, but now i think i am actually going there soon, and not just dream about it - Jebediah Kerman.

^^The Maan 1 ready for landing^^

This is when the world started going nuts, some thought it was fake, others thought the ASA has released just one of many secret Moon landings, just the one not showing an Alien in the image. But both are not true, it is the one and only real Moon lander, The Maan.

Housewife to orbit

September 21 - 2048, Marie Le Grand Kerman prepares to get into orbit, she is not experienced with any flying vehicles, all she does is building rockets, and of course cleaning the house. She will be flying in the Loesje 1, a spacecraft identical to the Anne 1 test vehicle. But this time, it has a very important payload.

xwIS3Y0.png

T - 1:02:53, Marie steps into the spacecraft, she checks all systems before launch. Mission control gives all the important data to her. They also put in the extra ''toys'' in the capsule for her to play with in Zero-G

T - 0:30:12, The Spacecrafts hatch closes, all pressure valves are checked and the spacecraft is turned on.

T - 0:20:23, The Anne 1 lifter is prepared for lift-off.

T - 0:10:00, All systems are ready.

T - 0:00:30, Countown begins,

T + 0:00:00, Liftoff!

Marie: ''Aaah dangit! I feel uncomfortable, we need a better seat for this craft!''

Mission Control: ''Dont worry it will be fixed for the next flight''

T + 0:14:30 Loesje has succesfully reached orbit.

Marie: ''Wow! I can see our planet from here, it is like looking at the sky but it is below you, its hard to believe that you are looking down at hundreds of people, all of them not knowing that i am looking at them. Im like the all seeing eye!''

Mission Control: ''How do you feel?''

Marie: ''I feel like im falling down, but at the same time i feel like im swimming, it is hard to explain.''

Mission Control: ''Can you grab the ball and play with it?''

Marie: ''Yes, the ball does not go down, but it slows down slowly because of the pressure in the capsule''

T+ 2:20:01 Marie does her re-entry burn

Marie went back to Earth alive, but she still had a few minor injuries because of the hard G-forces and unconfortable seat, she can barely walk now, but she will recover in a week, says the doctor. Alexander and his team continue designing a better capsule, for their next passager: Zara Bruin, just 7 years old, but if a child can go to space with comfort and no flaws, everyone can.
