What does ISRU stand for?

"In situ resource utilization" (In situ is a latin phrase that means "on site")

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/In_situ_resource_utilization

http://wiki.kerbalspaceprogram.com/wiki/Convert-O-Tron_250

The convert-o-tron basically takes ore from "on site" and turns it into fuel. That's what people are talking about.

Thank you for being the only one to actually answer my question.

It has already been answered. The rest of us would only have repeated what he said.

And besides, giving the wrong expansion of an acronym or initialism is an internet tradition.

Normally it's done is a way that also gives the real expansion, such as:  "If I recall correctly, IIRC means Irritating Infinite Recumbent Cyclists."  However it is sometimes, as here, done straight up after someone else has provided the real answer.

And here all this time I thought that stood for the International Integrated Reporting Council.

I tried googling it but ...

Apparently your Google-fu is lacking...

ISRU <-- was the very first thing Google brought up during a search. Links from NASA are the next 6 following.
