The + sign in the parts menu

I have been searching and googling this for an hour... maybe I'm just dumb lol.

I've seen on many youtube vids, people have a little + sign next to each part in their menu... I don't have this, I'm not 100% sure of it's fuction, but I'm guessing it's for creating part sub categories?

I'm using 1.13, is this a mod or a setting I am missing... help.

Cheers.

Yes, the + sign allows a part to be copied to a custom category, which are created/accessed from the Advanced Mode button in the VAB/SPH--that green arrow in the upper left of the part list.  Without any custom categories, the + sign doesn't appear. Some mods, like SpaceY, create their own custom category (which you may not even realize if you never use Advanced Mode), and so there will be a + sign on all parts.

Mods that add a custom category usually have a sub-folder for it, so if you don't want the + signs, simply delete that sub-folder from the main mod's folder.

I keep forgetting about this feature too. If it weren't for sub-assemblies I'm sure I would never go into the filter menu, especially now that there's a search bar for parts. I can see how it's helpful for mod packs though.
