What moves you? (other than high velocity gas)

Just curious what do y'all listen to when playing KSP. Do you stick with the stock music or pump up some tunes. For me I usually listen to the stock music but when I'm feeling especially rambunctious I'll turn on some old country (chris ledoux radio pandora) or when I'm feeling particularly creative I'll turn on some classical music. Nothing like floating through space listening to Chopin, Bach or Beethoven et. al. Let me know what y'all listen to below!

Stock music.

But if I ever decide to listen to something NOT already in the game, I might make up a playlist consisting of:

Rush - Hemispheres, Cygnus X-1, 2112, and quite a few others

Yes - Starship Troopers, Heart of the Sunrise, Siberian Khatru, most of Tales From Topgraphic Oceans, and Homeworld (The Ladder) - yes, it's the end credits music for the original Homeworld

Billy Thorpe - most of his Children of the Sun album

Starcastle

Elton John - Rocketman, natch

David Bowie - all of Ziggy Stardust

The soundtrack to 2001: A Space Odyssey

Gustav Holst - The Planets

Igor Stravinsky - Firebird

Tomita's electronic versions of Holst's The Planets, Debussy's Snowflakes Are Dancing, and Moussorgsky's Pictures at an Exhibition

anything from Vangelis, including collaborations with Jon Anderson (former vocalist for Yes)

most of Jon Anderson's solo work, but especially Olias of Sunhillow

Planet P - Why Me?

Most of Enya's catalog

Deep Purple - Space Truckin'

The Fifth Dimension - Aquarius/Let the Sun Shine In

Quite a bit of Moby, but especially Underwater, Parts 1-5

Styx - Come Sail Away

...and probably a hundred or more things I can't recall at the moment off the top of my head.

Good list @MaxxQ.  A couple to add:

Peter Schilling - Major Tom / Coming Home

Alan Parsons Project - Eye in the Sky

Interstellar, Apollo 13 soundtracks

Police - Walking on the Mun

Highwaymen - Highwayman (last verse only, really)

Any of the various "Learning to Fly" (Pink Floyd, Tom Petty, Foofighters, take your pick)

Lots of other Floyd, including Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun

Anything Philip Glass

Yeah, I knew about (and have) Major Tom, but couldn't for the life of me recall who did it, and couldn't be arsed to look it up.  Can't believe I forgot Pink Floyd or Alan Parsons (everything, including stuff without Eric Woolfson).  There's also Jeff Wayne's Musical Version of The War of the Worlds, which reminds me to also add The Moody Blues, David Essex, and Manfred Mann's Earth Band.  I suppose to round that out, I could throw in some Thin Lizzy and/or Eric Moore, but they're not QUITE spacey enough.

Not really big on Philip Glass,  Not sure why, although for some reason, that reminded me that I could add Mike Oldfield's Tubular Bells.

Oh, let me ask... is there an easy way to replace the stock music?

Not 'set music volume of KSP to 0, then run a playlist, but actually have something new play when reaching space, or a put a replacement for that elevator muzzak in VAB.

Depends what I'm doing. If I'm in a dogfight, this is my playlist:

While setting up

Top Gun Anthem Mixed Bells by Pixapins Kidd

While engaged

Danger zone - Kenny Loggins

Mighty Wings - Cheap Trick

Phoenix - Fall Out Boy

Eye of the Tiger - Survivor

Through the Fire - Top Gun Soundtrack

Warthunder Battle Music 3

^In no order^

When actually doing space work, I just listen to Third Rock Radio, which I highly recommend. Or I just find random songs online. Somtimes my own playlist on my YouTube.

Low velocity gas, of course, like from an Ant engine! :P

The Soundtrack Editor mod, once it is updated. There was a bug in the last release that made it unusable for me (the playlist jumping to the next song after pausing and unpausing the game), and then 1.2 broke it, but if/when it is working, it is the only (that I know of), and a great, mod to add to, replace, etc. the stock music and make many new playlists activating at different times.

When I am not listening to the stock or no music while playing KSP, I listen to Kerbal Space Program Re-Score. I cannot stress how much I like it, and the need for a music overhaul that this game has. The re-done main theme may have ruined my like of the stock main theme, due to sounding very much better.

I'll keep my eye on that mod then. I agree the main theme re-score sounds better than the original, but I wouldn't want the whole soundtrack replaced. That Re-Score lacks the variety; it's all like variations of a single theme, not distinct, clearly recognizable melodies. While it may seem more 'aesthetically pleasing' than the hodge-podge KSP has currently, it would get painfully boring after a while.

Ah. How well-timed. I was just mentioning in another thread how everything you do in KSP is instantly way more epic when the "Interstellar" soundtrack is playing in the background xD

Usually I just listen to whatever's in my Music folder on shuffle. I tend to collect a lot of trance and glitch hop these days. My current random music playlist:

Now as for music for launching giant rockets, this track takes the cake:

Hit the spacebar right at 1:08 when the BASS drops for maximum pwntasticness xD

Oh yeah, the game has music....

I'll have to try and go stock music next time. Either I play without music or I blast some of my favorite country/rock music. I used to have a playlist dedicated only for flying montages, which was epic to fly to.

I haven't heard the stock music in a long time.

I'll throw a movie or youtube up on the second monitor, or I'll play C:\mp3s on random and get a very wide variety of music.  The Top Gun soundtrack sometimes gets played while flying planes.

Sometimes I'll listen to old radio programs (Jack Benny, Suspense, The Whistler, Fibber McGee and Molly, Dragnet, Burns and Allen, Gunsmoke, etc.), or the NPR radio shows of Star Wars and Empire Strikes Back.  Being the time of year it is, I need to go find War of the Worlds.
