Nope not KF( but do concede to a bit of LoFi style influence in the design),  brand new, fresh out of unity this weekend  no KSP Wheel Api ,pure stock cfg, pretty stock hierarchy for a change , and modeled unified by me :) Decided that while big fat wheels look cool they are about as much use as a chocolate teapot,  these are the fat version, there are also hyper thin versions for electric racers

I just finished my first KD2017 !

Took me 6 attempts...and a solar panel @ stage 5...:lol:

Solar, stock. top speed 45 m/s, average 30 m/s.

I will upload my 14 screenshots asap, so it could be used as an example.

So I forgot to change target to surface setting, showing me the distance and not the speed that should say 0.0 m/s. But you can clearly see the brakes are on. &)

  • 18:45 - Stage 1
  • 35:31 - Stage 2
  • 56:14 - Stage 3
  • 56:14 ~ 05:07:57 - Nighttime Intermission (04:11:43 in length)
  • 05:25:06 - Stage 4
  • 05:42:34 - Stage 5
  • 06:01:01 - Stage 6
  • 06:15:45 - Stage 7/Finish

These were all "flying checkpoints" except for the third, not sure if that's legal or not but this was really just practice to see if I could do it in one run. Skipping the nighttime stop, my total drive time is 2:05:02 (I think).

I am about to attempt a full run myself.  Last of the supports have arrived at Flag 4:

(fraps counter lol)  Should be able to make it there before sunset if I start mid-morning.

and I made a COMPLETELY new transport system to get the vehicles there.  I call it the HyperVelocity Short-Range Transport System (HVSRTS):

I've got some upgrades in mind for it too...

I like the way this rover has evolved, leading up the race. Something tells me it'll be a contender. Clean, pragmatic design principles. You say pure electric, but I see a LF/OX tank. What's going on there?

Psh just 12 RTGs? I have AT LEAST 20-30 So my driver runs the risk of having a full clone. (The RTGs are like 2 feet from their face too so they're *probably* not in the best shape after the race
