Deleted persistent.sfs

Hey, i have randomly deleted the current persistent file, so i cant open my save again, and i have come very far in the game, i tried to get the file back by pressind ctrl+z but it doesnt work, can i somehow get the files back?

if you have a quicksave.sfs (or any other SFS file), you can rename or copy/paste and set it's name to persistent.sfs. You progress will be reset to the quickfile timestamp.

If you don't have any SFS file. You're doomed

If you use Windows, it may be in your Recycle Bin folder. Check that, and if it isn't there, follow Warzouz's advice.

My save corrupted on my PC the other day with a crash. I found that there was a backup folder in there that was keeping saves in that just needed copying and renaming. 

Don't think I have a mod that was doing it so have a look.

KSP should create a backup folder with the 5 past autosaves.

Indeed, KSP does this, and there will be a backups folder in each saves folder, unless this was disabled by editing the settings.cfg (it's the default activity).
