Hey Can some one check my math

Since you didn't put any labels or units on anything, it's kinda hard to tell what you're trying to do.

What exactly is it that you're trying to calculate?

Looks like you're trying to figure out the orbital velocity for Duna at 60km circular orbit?

either way, i believe you need to use meters for your distance from central body and also SMA not km.

3.0136321*10^11 * (2/380000-1/380000)=793061.0797

SQRT(Ans)= 890.5397687 m/s

SQRT(Ans)= 28161.34

SQRT (Ans 2) = 167

for a 60 km * 60 km orbit around duna

using GM * (2/r - 1/a) = V^2

m^3/s^2

ok now for the delta v needed to get to this orbit is around 1200 m/s

can someone check this cause I was using old delta v map

and I figured I needed to use meters and 890 sounds a little wrong cause that's only a few hundred from the escape velocity at 1300 m/s but I don't know maybe its right

I believe from duna's surface the Dv required to get to this orbital velocity is yea, 1200-1500 m/s. You can see for your self. just open up a sandbox save and put a craft in orbit around Duna with the same parameters and let me know what the orbital velocity is.

Escape velocity is always sqrt(2) times orbital velocity, so that sounds about right.  (Note that the quoted escape velocity is generally from the planet's surface, whereas the above orbital velocity is for an altitude higher than that and a bit slower, but it's pretty close.)

Probably not my brightest moment, but I  cant seem to find where you toggle from kerbin to other planets/moons. Can someone show me where?

You see the little Kerbin icon in the top right corner? Click on that. That opens the planet/moon selection menu.

Yeah I thought it did but in my android it does nothing. Guess its a mobile thing! I'll try later on my PC, i'm sure it will do the trick. Thanks!
