Also, @Ultimate Steve, I agree, you should absolutely be allowed to watch. This is something that should be promoted in an educational setting. I’m going to tell my gf that she should have her class watch.

We used to get to watch Shuttle launches in school when I was a kid. I recall the entire school assembling in the gymnasium to watch what was probably STS-2, based on the launch date/time.

Bought a $30 weed torch with piezo electric starter at Harbor Freight. Son and I have been playing with it in the yard. Lol.

Need to figure out how to adjust intake air so the flame is less efficient, and colder for a more visible effect (pretty blue when you hit the trigger and blast with it).

I just realized that I'll be in Orlando during the 6-7th with the wife and kids.  We might have to leave Disneyworld for the afternoon to catch the launch...

I'll add to @StrandedonEarth... MIGHT?

Here's the deal. The launch is at 1:30 local time. Go to Disneyworld the instant they open (assuming you are there on the 6th). Early lets you wait in fewer lines. Leave, and drive to the Cape. Get lunch outside the park (the drive and lunch probably cheaper than eating inside, anyway  ). Come back, and do the park more in the later afternoon/evening. The fireworks will be lame compared to what you have just seen, so do rides DURING the fireworks (no lines, least at Disneyland). Profit. :D

Hope he gets his flu shot before he does that.

Arrg, I had an important meeting at 02 p.m... or should I say I had to have an important meeting. No way to miss it!

I'm just wondering at which time it will be the best to go at the spotting sites, as I'm pretty sure that Playalinda beach will be overcrowded early in the morning, as much as the FL-401.

frankly im hoping that both launches get delayed a day because i have a lab on both launches :/

Convince the lab person that you need to see FH launch. All it takes is an open screen, then it's a few minutes in the background.

Heh. :)  My only hesitation is the chance the launch would get scrubbed.  I'd have some pretty upset kids if that happens.  Also, the uncertainty about the actual timing of the launch.  Where's the best place to get real-time updates on the launch?  If we go and it gets scrubbed, I'd want to know ASAP so we don't sit around for 3 hours hoping for a launch that won't happen.
