Scotius
Yep. This one will need extra long hosing down. Going to space on a pillar of exploding burning hydrocarbons, then riding the fire down to landing does that to a rocket.

And again. And again.

I do agree that future bfrs should be given names like fireworks and explosions.
Scotius
If first flying BFR is not named Enterprise, i will be pretty ruffled.

They really need to nail down what they are calling stuff, I still see BFR used for the whole stack.
Wjolcz
I dunno about the whole naming thing. The E2E ships will probably not have any names. Eventually (I hope) there will be so many of them that naming each one something special will make as much sense as giving names to all the airliners. I'd like to live long enough to witness that. That said, there are airlines that do assign names for at least some of their aircraft.
StrandedonEarth
Names are mostly for the public. The Shuttle Orbiters were always known internally as “”OV-101, OV-102”, etc

I've seen "Big flipping Booster" for the long end and "Big flipping Spaceship* for the short end, with "Big flipping Rocket" for the whole stack. We may see something like "Heart of Gold, a BFR-class spaceship, left for a cislunar flyby today." Or it may be, "BA1031, the first Heron booster to launch a manned interplanetary mission, was retired today after its sixty-second flight."
