It's a totally normal thing to have a favorite Falcon 9 booster!

...Right?

Right, guys?

Naming them and it would be much more common. Falcon heavy side boosters would have names of twins like Romulus and Remus. Core got no names as it is disposed.
Imagine calling them Louie, Huey, and Dewey and dispose of Huey :) Disney would be furious of them using these names

I will always remember B1062 as Jebediah.  All boosters that cross the 20th landing line should get a Kerbal name

Some who know Everyday Astronaut get him to ask this next time he meet Musk.
Its reasonable plausible it would pass.

Yes, and also casually mention that KSP might benefit from SpaceX taking an active interest its future while SpaceX would benefit from the increased interest and education KSP generates in all things space, rockets, and interplanetary travel

I agree, but that will cost millions. Naming boosters is free and increase engagement.  Downside is if they dispose of one them there will be some backlash.

Nothing definite, though there are welders working day and night at Starbase beefing up the catch arms and assembling the second tower.

The unsatisfying answer of, "When it's ready" is the best I have.

Any news on ift 5? I have to fuel my starship addiction, starting to get withdrawls.

SpaceX appears to be working on a test system to lower a test article partial booster into the catch arms from above using cables. I can't recall at this time which YouTube channel mentioned this, dangit.

According to https://arstechnica.com/space/2024/08/rocket-report-when-will-starship-launch-again-blue-origin-flies-six-to-space/ the FAA approval is on hold until the environmental problem with water disposal is cleared. Basically all FAA approvals base on the environmental assessment and if doubt of the facts rise it blocks further approvals. Unfortunately for SpaceX this probably affects not only booster catch but any launch license. Thats why they extend catch tests. It is the best they can do while solving the water disposal problem.

Bored soldiers met regulations, and boredom won: https://www.navytimes.com/news/your-navy/2024/09/03/how-navy-chiefs-conspired-to-get-themselves-illegal-warship-wi-fi/

See, they cannot communicate while on duty, so the chiefs bought and installed a Starlink terminal so they and only they could browse the internet and stream movies. The sailors were left out in the cold (denied the password for the WiFi).

The first low-earth orbit constellation for US defence - Starshield - was recently launched by SpaceX. The collusion and corruption was only uncovered... when they installed an authorised Starshield communication dish.
