magnemoe
5 hours ago, Deddly said: According to Wikipedia: Quote In 1928 and 1929, the overall accident rate was about 1 in every million miles (1.6 million kilometers) flown.[5] In today's industry, that accident rate would translate to about 7,000 fatal accidents each year. It doesn't list the ratio of crashes per flight, but we have a number for miles/kilometres per accident. If we can find the average distance of a flight in those early years, we could make a fairish comparison In 1918 it had been produced over 100.000 planes so it had been millions of landings. I say its also a bit unfair as you had an good chance of surviving an engine out in a WW 1 plane.
Nuke
a ww1 aircraft is a lot easier to fly when the engine is out. since a lot of them rotated the engine block around the shaft to maximize cooling.

AckSed
Mechazilla is currently paused in the middle of a destack with Ship 34 dangling from the chopsticks. Workers seem to be working at the "skate" the chopsticks are attached. I have to remember that damn near everything at Starbase is highly experimental.
