KSP Interstellar Extended Continued Development Thread

I usually just use plasma engines and stop in midair rather than generating heat on the way down..... if you have the atmosphere mining things you can get all the reaction mass you need to fly down too...  Kinda cheap but I usually splode when I try and do an atmo-brake.

Thank you, but you're too fast posting this...

On Curse it says updated 8 mins ago but still the 1.8.14 there.

Well curse can be a bit slow in their approval sometimes.

I was checking KSPI-E in CKAN. Here is the error log from the dialog box:

I can also say I got that error as well, along with the same error with a few other mods like extraplanetary launchpads and a few others. Somehow I got them to approve the update but now they dont actually load into the game...

EDIT: got CKAN to allow it to be updated. but now my game is completely broken..dont know if its KSPI-E but i know i cant click on any building facility, or tracking station, and when i go into RnD building I cannot leave it ever..lots of Null exceptions in debug menu...

Well fortunately, in KSPI-E, the warp drives stack, which means you can warp up to 2 x 24 x 3 x 10 = 1420 mT with is bad boy. Since I don't see much other vessel mass, it means your must have a very high Warp Power to Vessel Mass ratio. As a consequence, you need less power (and fuel) to enter warp, which means a single 2.5 Antimatter reactor with Charged Particle generator and Thermal Electric Generator should be more than enough. Hack I bet even a single Fusion Reactor should be more than enough. Alternatively you could add more power to this monster to set a speed record, which will minimize the amount of antimatter fuel needed to reach a far destination. That because the faster you travel, the more  energy efficient you will be. Of cource traveling at high speed will also be more chalanging but that's part of the fun.  Still I wonder how far you can push this, perhaps even nuclear powered Warp drive would be possible.

I guess this is not intended. Repeat clicking to refuel uranium from EVA overfills the reactor. No idea how the kerbal was able to close that containment, but anyway, ;-)

Especially interesting is the fraction of 0.12 UF4, since the reactor was initially at 0.00.

Exactly what steps did you make to create this situation

well, no matter how much i add or take away, it still says "not enough MW power to form a stable warp field"

- Fresh build ship was in drydock.
- Checked tanks, not being sure if EL is able to fill UF4 into the reactor
- Going EVA with an engineer stopping the anyway empty reactor, clicking refill accidentally twice.
- Tab back to ship, seeing the reactor was overfilled
- Tabbing back trying it intentional, ending up with 48.12 UF4
- Letting the Kerbal seal the containment with space grade gaffer tape, start the reactor and returning to station.

Extraplanetary Lauchpads was able to set UF4 as preset, therefore the reactor is now at 12/12 as planned

Not sure where this "Refill" button comes from, It is not from KSPI-E. KSPI-E only offers a "Swap Fuel" and "Restart" button while one EVA. I suspect it is a Extraplanetary Lauchpads  feature

And Eve

Here is descent - MUCH MUCH better now only exposed parts overheat ( like landing gear , wings etc ) i think if i do it proper i could deorbit it.

Not sure where this "Refill" button comes from, It is not from KSPI-E. KSPI-E only offers a "Swap Fuel" and "Restart" button while one EVA. I suspect it is a Extraplanetary Lauchpads  feature

Oh well its "Refuel Uranuim Flurid", i was under the impression its from KSPI-E since it worked so well. Might be from UKS, however I had to shut the reactor down before it appeared as i would expect KSPI-E to handle it.
