tater
Launch at 3:23 EST. Edited December 14, 2017 by tater
Shpaget
That fairing looks like something from a Mad Max mod for KSP (is there a Mad Max mod?), or stock, but from Jeb's Junkyard. Seriously, what is that thing?
Pand5461
@Shpaget bubble wrap or stuff like that, I guess. It's for transportation only and is removed before launch. Look at the interstage, it's wrapped in something, too.

Shpaget
Judging by the live feed, they seem to have removed the wrapping from the fairing. And we have a Liftoff!

tater
SpaceX launches have ruined me. Proton, Ariane, Atlas, etc? Boring.
Shpaget
That MECO and staging looked weird.

tater
I'm fine with alternate languages, particularly in the countdowns, etc. I am just sick of the cruddy animations, and low-res video.

Ultimate Steve
I thought I was going to miss this one because of school. Then I said to my friend "Hey, there is a rocket launching in 30 seconds." He looks up the stream on his phone (I don't have one) but we are about a minute late and it's just a star in the sky... One more star than there was yesterday!
Nightside
I love that the launch team signs the fairing!

Some variations include "first stage engines working normally", "pressure in the combustion chambers nominal", "pitch, yaw and roll values nominal". There hasn't been any launches for a while and the first one I can't watch... Oh, well. I guess I'll stay up until 1 AM for the Atlas V...
