Can't get tourist missions right

Recommended Posts

First off, what counts as a suborbital flight? Because so far I've flown up a bit and come back down but the mission doesn't complete. Also I've taken someone up to orbit and back and nothing. I've got the passengers in a nice two man crew cabin, but I just can't complete it. Any advice?

For a suborbital, really the only requirement is that the ship leave atmosphere at some point. If they are exposed to Gs high enough to make them pass out, though, you will be considered to have failed the mission. If you open the contracts screen in the upper right, you might be able to see which condition is not being marked as completed.

A quick follow up on @Vanamonde's comment, you need to get over 70,000 meters to be out of the atmosphere.

A more detailed description of the conditions used for contracts:

Landed:  In contact with solid ground.

Splashed down:  Floating in water, (or explodium if on Eve).

Suborbit:  Positive apoapsis, periapsis either negative or in atmosphere, craft in flight above any atmosphere.  (Important note:  A 'flyby' that will crash is not suborbital.)

Orbit:  Positive apoapsis, periapsis both positive and above any atmosphere.

Flyby:  Entering SOI.

Ah excellent, so far because I haven't been given a height I assumed it was before the navball switches to orbit mode (35km). Also how high is an orbit meant to be?

Any full circuit which does not touch the atmosphere at any point (that 70kms again) is considered an orbit.
