Ha, they all got issues.

 

Bryntröll  by @Thor Wotansen   - likes to do backflips when you switch back to the runway to spawn an opponent.   The Kraken has  taken an interest in its landing gear.  Need to remember to pull the gear in before switching to Space Centre,  and to lower it again before starting the match.

Mine (Kryfoon)  - doesn't always fire its guns, sometimes hits itself with its own missles

Fighter 2    by 53miner53 - prone to stalling, and also engine stalls.   Bit of a low rider too,  prone to destroying engines no matter how gently you drive off the runway.  Amazingly well balanced though - lets you flip at will, but somewhat controllable !

BeGentle by @Fleshjeb - actually this one's low maintenance, well done !

Monstron - bobs ominously on spawn, but survived the Kraken !

Seriously though,  it is hard to pick a best fighter with head to heads, because its so random,  and because the best design to take down something like @Eidahill's Monstron would be like a bomber interceptor ,  and might struggle against a nimble jet.

They are. {When compared to a bomber with an engine that has no gimbal, no SAS, no RCS, and no flaps.

I can live with being a frenemy.

Interesting to compare different kinds of maneuverability as well.

focuses on sustained maneuver performance,  it takes about 7 seconds to do a 360, but can keep that up indefinitely. 

@53miner53 's Fighter2    lets you swivel the nose off prograde almost at will,  exceeding the stall angle by 90 degrees or more, though such maneuvers  leave you "dead in the water" and take a good few seconds to recover from.

has insane instantaneous maneuver performance, takes less than 2 seconds to do a 180 , after that it's lost most of its airspeed and is unable to generate much turning force because it's bumping against the stall limit,  you need to fly straight for a few seconds between such harsh actions to recover momentum.

This is just me weaponizing a old proof-of-concept -- Using Goliaths as VTOL engines. Unfortunately BDA closes all cargo bay doors when combat starts. It still did a lot of killing and it taught me how good the ECM is.

@HeroBrian_333 do the rules allow the Vulcan turrets? They only say lasers and Goalkeepers are not allowed. If not, I'll go back to the Hidden Vulcans.
