File Sizes for Profile Picture and Cover Photo Way Too Small

The file sizes for the cover photo and profile picture are far too small. I can't even use a screenshot from KSP as a cover photo due to the size limit. Everything has to be shrunk so much it looks bad. Please, hear me out here and change this! You can see the distortion in my profile photo by the way. I had to remove the background for my profile cause it was too blurry.

I'm assuming it's small to keep down storage and bandwidth usage.  So unless you want to start paying for forum membership, it'll probably stay the way it is.  Same reason the forum doesn't host posted pictures itself.  It may not seem like much, but that stuff adds up fast.

This is unfortunate, and it is a bandwidth issue. So I'm sorry, but it is unlikely to be changed.

There are freeware programs out there that will reduce the image's footprint. I use them all the time and they do not totally destroy the picture.

And you can do it with Windows and in Adobe PhotoShop.

If you change the file format to jpeg from png, the file is getting smaller be a relative big amount
