Yes but we are talking about C# here. I asked for this specific case, not an history lesson on C. I was around back then and yet I did not bring bad coding practice just for old time sake.

And I explained why this is not needed nowadays, even on C#.

This is a public forum, you're not the only one reading. I tried to explain the issue in terms that everybody would understand, and not only you - to tell the true, I'm pretty sure that you are the one that can explain a lot of things to me, and not vice versa. :-)

I saw your interjection as a rhetoric, in the meaning "this is nuts". Experienced people like us would understand it promptly, because we have the technical and historical knowledge of the thing. Younger people rarely have the historic, and contextualization is a good way to help remembering things.

In time, this was not bad coding practice in the time. It was bad not to do it. It's a anti-pattern now, but not then. And this make a lot of difference: it's a lot easier to convince someone that he's only need to update this knowledge a bit, instead of saying "you are nuts" and that's it. :-)

And, by the way, there's a lot of old time coders around that did such coding in the past but are not professional developers since long time. They're also reading this.

Does anyone have a clue.

PS: I have tried installing them one by one, and somehow I missed when the problem started... Might be it is a combination thing.

Since 1.4.x my game freezes from time to time for like a milisecond. I've noticed through X Science (not sure if it's specifically this mod causing it) that when I switch from one area to another and a new science opportunity is available (providing you have the science tech required onboard).

Like I said I'm not sure it's X Science related but I do know each time it freezes like that then a new science experiment will pop up in the X Science window to perform.

X-Science does produce stutter on biome change. However, there is an unofficial build on the x-science thread which does reduce that stutter.

However, the biggest stutter problem in KSP comes from the garbage collector which runs from time to time. Some mods produce a lot of garbage.... It can be hard to identify exactly which ones though.

Stutter from X-Science is not (primarily) related to garbage, but rather heavy updates, not all of which are necessary all the time.
